@Henry Hotspur

I can predict that the next president will be male.

I can also safely predict that while there are very good female politicians, the following president in four or eight years will be male too.

It's funny...

But I have been saying even since before the first vote was cast that Hillary Clinton is more of a pregressive than Obama is. One only has to look at what each has said they would do as president (actual policy).

However, in terms of rhetoric Clinton in her tone leaned a bit right while Obama leaned hard left.

Now the Obama supporters, those that absolutely hate Clinton and see Obama as some sort of panacea for all they detest, are on the verge of nominating a candidate that is far more Bill Clinton than even Hillary is.

What a world...

And for the record, I still think Hillary and Barack are both worthy candidates and decent people when you cut through the crap.

Nice to see...

That as the primary winds down and Obama must now turn and reunite the party while angling his rhetoric more to the middle, that so many Obama supporters are making that task far more difficult than it should be by gloating and propogating so much hateful rhetoric toward the other half of the Democratic Party.

The problem is...

That so many of the people that practice or want to practice polyamory are extraordinarily self centered to the point where the effects of their actions on others--in particular children--seem less important than protestations that they are breaking some form of new ground and are uniquely capable of an extraordinary degree of loving that others can't appreciate.

How do I know?

Before my divorce my ex-wife heaped daily abuse on me because I did not want to be in a polyamorous marriage. She accused me of sexually repressing her and being less evolved than she because I believe in the simple beauty of monogamy once someone makes the choice to be married and start a family.

And she was being egged on by members of a local community of polyamorists saying that if I declined polyamory it wasn't because I was making a choice, it was because I am less evolved, being selfish, and repressing her.

Since divorcing my ex has not had a single rewarding relationship (her last boyfriend was arrested in front of our kids one evening) and has only severely confused our kids and caused them a lot of emotional pain (we have shared custody and split the week).

I on the other hand began dating after the divorce, met and went out with a number of wonderful women, and now am very happily engaged. I'm also really proud of the stability and consistency I have been able to provide my children--they're worth it.

Obama...

Was very gracious in his speech after the primaries on Tuesday to Clinton and her supporters. He did a very fine job of beginning to bridge the divide, which by virtue of his winning the nomination becomes his responsibility.

However, many of his supporters--not all--but many have not nearly been as gracious and act as if they believe that Obama will simply win the election without actually having to win the votes of the other half of the Democratic Party and undecided independents. It is a travesty that after all both Clintons have done for this party and the people of this country that those people who should applaud their service are practicing the politics that Obama distains--personal destruction. It was not necessary to create such a hateful characature.

At this very crucial moment Obama's greatest liability are these supporters--not Clinton or McCain.

If we are to win in November these people have to finally understand that this race is not just about them.

I also think that despite a few mistakes in her analysis from time to time, Joan Walsh has shown great courage confronting many of the issues that will affect the general election. We have to deal with the world for how it is, not how we want it to be.

Seems like...

All of the talk and vitriol accusing Clinton of being a monster, GOP hack and etc. so eagerly thrown by so many Obama supporters turns out to be a lot like much of the so called controversies also talked about by so many of Obama's supporters...

Completely untrue.

Can you guys cut it out now so that Obama can have a slightly better chance of winning?

Ummm...

"No other country...????"

How about say..., South Africa. Maybe I can think of a few others too...

Oh yeah, other countries have also elected women to top posts too.

The following quote...

Sums up all that is wrong with so many of Obama's supporters and why they are his greatest liability:

"As an Obama supporter, I don't feel it's my job to convince anyone to back my candidate."

Guess what? According to Obama and the priiciples of electoral politics over the past 200+ years it is your responsibility. This is the very definition of grass roots campaigning.

If your not willing to stand up for your candidate and reach out to the other half of the Democratic Party than why should anyone else.

For God's sake, get over yourselves so that Obama can actually have a chance to win.

Again...

So will this quote help bring the party back together:

"Hillary Clinton ran a fundamentally dishonest campaign, which appealed to a lot of fundamentally dishonest people."

The answer is no. By calling Hillary's supporters dishonest you are practicing the politics of division.

Wake up and stop.
