I totally agree!

You couldn't have said it better. Last Feb I blocked MSNBC on my cable box. My only regret is that I miss seeing you on there. Most of my life I lived in a very Republican state where my vote didn't matter. But now I live in Florida. I voted in the primary but that didn't count either. But guess what, in November it will matter. I can't really imagine voting for McCain, but on the other hand I am so so totally disgusted with what's happened. I don't think anybody wishes Obama ill. My anger is with the media and his supporters who spew out belittling vitriol. If he can't rein them in, then I for sure will just stay home. I don't go places where I'm not wanted.

Can't wait to see it!

Gosh what's wrong with a nice break from reality especially this summer! All the rest of you gals can have Pierce Brosnan, just leave Colin Firth for me! I'll watch anything he's in at least once.

Clinton a great President!

Clinton was the only successful democratic president we've had since JFK... Of course he should speak and have a prominent place at the convention. Who else can we point to with pride? That said, the media in general is blowing all this up into something that it's not just to have something 'sensational' to talk about. I am totally sick of the media on this election. First it was Clinton bashing, now it's more Clinton bashing. Who are they helping here? McCain, that's who. It just stirs up resentment between the Obama people and the Clinton people. Well, I was a Clinton backer, and now I'm voting for Obama. Can't make myself vote for McCain. I'm not a happy camper, but then I've voted for worse a number of times. One thing for sure though, he needs to announce a VP quick like a bunny, and it needs to be somebody who can chew on the repubs... Clinton or Biden would do it for me. Honestly I don't see how he could win without one of those two.

@FaulknerJr

You're absolutely right. I didn't mention him because of that albatross. That was a particularly bad war for me personally. Most definitely though, domestically, he moved the country forward in big ways. And who knows how JFK would have turned out if he had lived. Well, what a world we live in. Makes me want to pull up my dress and scream! Right after we outlaw the Republican party.

Well you're right I'm an old boomer and I sure do hate getting old. Sooooo many things my mama didn't tell me. I surely can't speak for all women, because there are some unaccountable views out there, but as a woman who's worked in a 'mans' business for 20+ years, Obama is the kind of guy corporate sends down and you chew up and spit out before breakfast. A large part of it is fear of what the Repubs will do to him. I'm not interested in 'making nice' with the repubs, I want somebody who can 'take names' and kick butts. A lot of people might want to call that fighting old wars, but gee whiz look at what they have done to this country. We are in such a HUGE mess.

I think we can compromise here. I do see that the partisan bickering is fruitless. But Oh gosh! I sure do want to just smack somebody. It's just so infuriating that the repubs have tried so hard (and mostly succeeded) in dragging us back to the 50's. That's a bitter pill to swallow. So you have to forgive us when we say 'been there, done that, got a whole stack of those t-shirts'. Now what other world problems can we solve today? I'm thinking making the pharmaceutical companies buy up the poppy crop in Afghanistan, get the Saudi's to pour more money in there and turn it into a mini Dubai. A little money, electricity and running water never hurts a place. A little humor, been through one too many hurricanes with none of the above, so I know.

Biden

If he had picked Biden early he could have him eating McCain's lunch over this Georgia/Russia intrigue.

MSM

Let me venture to say that most people who have responded here would love for the cable news to be brought to heel. I am so disgusted with everybody.... from the Hillary bashing on MSNBC to CNN's stirring the pot constantly and letting themselves be used by McCain. How disgraceful. Maybe I grew up very naive, but at one time politics was taken as a serious thing by the media and they didn't try to shape opinion the way they do now... or just massive indifference to the consequences of what they are doing. That's how we get idiots in office. I so wish someone would start an email or letter writing campaign to the sponsors of these shows. And geez haven't even gotten to Fox..... don't dare watch that or I'd have to take blood pressure medication. On a rational level I know people should form their own opinion, but the thing is, people are swayed by that constant barrage of garbage. I have never been so frustrated, outraged and incensed as I have been this election cycle. I don't even have the words for it, because that fails to convey what I really feel.
