Original article: Should cafes be kid-free?

A Little Quiet Please?

I personaly like my bookstore or cafes to be quiet. I understand that people lead active lives with children, but do you know how many kid friendly places their are?? More than you would think. I recently went to Dallas and ate with my young nephew at a resaturant that "caters" to the the baby-toddler crowd. My nephew loved it and so did I!

We live in a diverse world that is supoosed to love all shapes and sizes. I do love kids but when they scream, cry, and tatntrum in apublic place I expect thier parents to show some maturity and responsibility and leave the domain until the child clams down. It's what my parents would have done the same thing when I was younger! I don't think it's to much to ask now.

" Who's Scoorged Now?"

After reading this article it reminded me of the fact that every year I make time to read ,"A Christmas Carol" and watch the History of Christmas on the History Channel. It's very enlightening.

The thing that I have noticed about the Christin Right is that they can not face up to thier own Christian History. Jesus was a JEW. Most missionaries incorporated old mythic celebrations into their teachings so the local culture could keep its own identity. That was the only true way for the Christians to convert anyone. That is a histoical fact.

What I don't understand is this new sgenda on "Scrooging" Christmas. If anyone is getting "Scrooged" this year is the working man. He has had to pay more for basic fuel, food, and housing than any other time that at least I can remember. The rich are getting more tax breaks while the poor and middle class are taking up the slack. Most people I know are living day to day. That was why Dickens wrote "A Christmas Carol" in the first place as a social commentary on the way big buisness and the rich deal with the common man. Perhaps all the talking heads need to read this story and the history of Christmas itself before they deem to pass judegment on the rest us.

Fear and Loathing in Baghdad

As an avid news hound that usues all forms of communication to figure out the ,"real" story on Iraq. This whole article troubles me greatly.

How can a reporter get an unbiased story about conditions in Iraq when their own security is at risk? To me that says it all.

How can as an educated voter get my constituents to listen to me about my concerns in Iraq when their is limited information gotten on the ground?

Original article: What the hell happened?

Stupid White Men...And now women are buying it too!

I just read this article....and hear the same lies from Mr. President AGAIN.

I disagree with ANY living woman out there that says we would not mind if Roe V Wade was overturned and contiually weakend. That is a load of CRAP and they know it. Being a SINGLE woman in this new "1984" world I truly understand the social and political consequences of these eletions and nominations under the carpet.

Roe V Wade is more than how a sperm and a cell create a life...The question I ask to all of you is what quality of life? If I had a child now I would definitely become a welfare mom as I'm working twice the numbers of hours I need just to support myself. My child would not get a qualtiy education as finacial aid has been cut or raised so college would be out of the question. I would not be able to count on the father because due to all the gang and crime violence he would probabaly be DEAD by the time the baby was born. This "life" would never be truly, nurtured, educated, and loved. This child would become another lost statitic. Now I ask anyone here is that life? No death before scientific life begins is the best gift I could ever give that "unborn child"...........

People need to think about the CONSEQUENCES of thier leaders choices by not standing up to the Congress, Senate, House, and President and saying "No what you want is good for only a part of your idealogical beliefs not for the country as a whole."

Original article: Flooded and forgotten

I remember Rita

Being a Houstonian I have felt many a hurricane past and felt the pain of neglect afterwords.

Rita did do major damage to the southern parts of Texas like Beaumont-Port Arthur and like Katrina they are STILL waiting and trying to piece back their lives. My girlfiend has told me many a story of going to her parents and the neighborhood around it was COVERED in downed trees and power lines. It took more than four months before a an entire tree was finaly excavated out of their living room.

Pick any part of the US and you'll find a differnt natural disaster waiting to happen! The problem really is a lack of aggresive Federal and State response. All current funding is going to to fight the war on terror. Trillions of dollars are funding two wars! Corporate and private buisness are still gritting thier teeth just to get by. Are current leader or as a friend of mine coined "punk ass-chump" and his Congress are worried about gay marriage, flag burning, and giving themsleves raises. That's where their priorties lay.

Think about that the next time you go into a voting booth. We need a non-dysfuntional government and we need it fast!

Psychoanalysts Definition Of Crazy:

....Is doing the SAME thing over and over AGAIN and

expecting DIFFERENT results.

Even after the ISG report comes out the administration plans to ignore most if not all of it.

I only have one question, how did any Americans keep thier sanity during the MCCarthy and Nixon ers???? Because I am living in disillusionment!!

State of Indifference

This is why most of the people I know will not watch his "State of the Union" tonight. He has got nothing worth hearing.

Here's to 2008!
