  • Angry Clinton Supporters

[Read the article: "PUMAs": Angrier than I thought]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I supported Clinton and since I live in CA I have decided not to vote in the Presidential race in November--UNLESS it looks possible that Obama could lose CA, which is not likely. Why? Because I feel that if I "come around" I will be sending the message that the contempt and sexism that was heaped on Clinton and her supporters in the primary race was OK, because not only (to a degree) did it work, but also there was no penalty to pay for that behavior. And so it will happen again. Women are good at putting themselves last especially when it comes to their children, so no matter how obnoxious little Johnny and Suzie are, they always count on Mom supporting them in the end. Maybe not this time. Can anyone suggest a better way that we can be heard?

  • McCain Ads are hurting Obama

[Read the article: McCain ads hurting Obama?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I was in Kansas City for a week last month and heard dozens of McCain T.V. ads blaming Obama for the cost of gasoline . In contrast, I only heard one Obama ad and that was not in response to McCain's charges. By the time I left K.C. even I thought Obama must be responsible for the high prices at the pumps!

Repetition works and if Missouri is an important state where oh where was the Obama campaign? Move-On and similar groups cannot carry water for Obama on the major issues of the day. So far I feel that the Obama campaign strategy is a re run of John Kerry's too little, too late campaign of 2004 .

  • Can Obama Close the deal?

[Read the article: A pre-convention memo to Hillary Clinton]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"Encouraging your supporters to make trouble at the Democratic convention would be a strategic error of enormous proportions, as would any further hints or winks or whispers about the flaws of Obama's candidacy. The inability to control such gestures, which are clearly motivated by emotions rather than wisdom, betrays a lack of mature statesmanship."

All that I have heard since Obama secured the nomination is that Of Course he wasn't responsible for all of the ridiculous trash thrown at the Clinton's during the primary/caucus races. If that is true then his obvious inability to control his followers "when they were clearly motivated by emotions rather than wisdom" definitely betrays a lack of mature statesmanship.

Hillary Clinton will support Obama between now and November. However, if Obama loses it will be absurd to blame the Clintons . He couldn't close against Clinton in the primaries and he absolutely must figure out how to close the deal against McCain, because he isn't doing that so far. Where is Kyra Sedgwick when you need her?
