Is there any person in America with the gravitas and appeal to BOTH liberals and conservatives who can ask the pointed question: "Have you no shame?" (Referring to the McCarthy era where it started the downfall of his witch hunt)
Sure President Obama can say in his speech that he will call out anybody who lies. I'm still waiting for him to do so.

Conservatives have a tendency to trust authoritarians. That worked out great in the past, when Republican masters used their brains someone and didn't outright lie in public. Today conservatives still believe in authoritarians. Unfortunately, although they are also using their brains it is strictly for selfish reasons. They have no problem lying and deceiving, as long as they can laugh all the way to the bank.

What he actually meant to say: "Such insulting rhetoric (from the fringe on the right) not only undermines the credibility of the Republican Party, but it underscores the desperate attempt by the GOP to divert attention away from their own failed agenda."
