Just massage your cheek a little bit, and it will feel better... ;~)
It really pays sometimes to look at someone's archives before responding... for all kinds of reasons. In this case, I thought we should cut Mikes some slack.
But, Creationist? Not so much.
I was going to post another comment for you and Pedinska and jkalos, and whoever else was with us (lurking or not) on that sub-thread... and ask if we were going to have a group "cleaning" devoted to clearing the maladministration. If not, I might just do it on my own...
but my favorite was Jacques Pepin. The man is an artist. An artist of economy. In a good way.
Now, I have to ask: but what about Rupert Everett and Alan Rickman? Or am I showing my age?
...and anyone else who is interested.
I'm thinking this Saturday would be good for me. If I can spend the entire day cleaning, I will, but if not, then as much time as I can.
But... mentally (or psychically?) I'll be helping to clean up in DC.
but I'm not sure. Someone was reviewing a new CD featuring Alison Krauss and Robert Plant. I was thinking of getting it for a friend who's a big fan of Robert Plant.

There have been some comments about why so many chickenhawks would celebrate their high lottery numbers, while never "thinking" to volunteer for a war that they so actively promoted.
And one or two others have mentioned that volunteering would require recognizing one's personal agency...
And it all adds up to RWAs needing to be forced or ordered into the military by some other authority, because, as in so many other areas, thinking for yourself is so dangerous. (I'm still thinking about that NOVA program on ID and the Dover, PA school board... and how having a supreme authority is so absolutely necessary that one must be invented for anything and everything. Even science.)
Perhaps what "we" have been doing wrong is... not ordering the Republicans around enough. Apparently, they just really want that authority figure. The problem is that many Democrats and/or liberals neither want one, nor want to be one. What a pickle!
Gradually, I'm beginning to come around to thinking that Hillary really might be the best candidate for this particular election, not because I necessarily agree with her on enough issues, but because she probably is the one who can stand up to the onslaught to come, and she seems to project enough personal authority that Republicans are either afraid of her or say that they respect her. Before we can accomplish much else, someone first has to wrest all of that power away from the GOP and the notion of a unitary executive.
And, Arne...
I am also very familiar with that story by Sachs and have related it more than once during the current Dark Times.
It was from "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat."
And I really identified with the man who had that visceral reaction... I suffer from it, too.
No, I think he came among us to bury the Constitution, not to praise it.
Caution: I'm not sure that this metaphor bears further exploration, or else both satire and irony might revolt and go on strike, too, with the WGA.

But w/ apologies to Shakespeare
You all did love the Constitution once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then to mourn for it?
O judgement! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reason…. Bear with us;
Our hearts are in the coffin there with Justice,
And we must not give up till it comes back to us.

...assuming of course, that it's up-to-date. But it is a starting point.
How about a new term for the Republican Party and their hypocrisy? None of the terms we've come up with so far work as well for us as their "Democrat Party" does for them.
I present for your consideration: Republicant
http://www.yourdictionary.com/cant
cant (kant)
noun
1. whining, singsong speech, esp. as used by beggars
2. the secret slang of beggars, thieves, etc.; argot
3. the special words and phrases used by those in a certain sect, occupation, etc.; jargon
4. insincere or almost meaningless talk used merely from convention or habit
5. religious phraseology used hypocritically; insincere, pious talk
* * *
And, it rhymes with supplicant. For anyone with either a pen or an ear for doggerel.
I'm not sure the plural form works, technically speaking, but your list certainly does. ;~)
I almost agree with you about the "k" except for the confusion it might cause if it also evokes Immanuel Kant. A troublesome comparison... unless, perhaps, we're going strictly for Irony.
But, I wonder if enough people would still make the connection with "cant."
on using the word codswallop? It makes me gag every time I see it. I suspect I'm not alone.
A draw?
"You say Republikant... I say Republicant..." [need some more lyrics here]
ondelette:
I really liked the following, too:
Republican't
(statement of the abilities of big gummint)
Republiqani
(Asian genitive with a bit of Arabic transliteration for the arc of civilization crowd).
Raspubleticheskovo
(For the old cold warrior set)
We could use them all... and see what sticks?
