the '06 patriot act legislation was to amend it. as a legislator, you often don't get the "all or nothing at all" option. Of course, it's easier to make a dumbass blanket statement. There's a difference between skepticism and stupidity. Have you any notion how the US Senate, with its labyrinth of arcane rules, operates? No? Well, then just sling generalities out here. Someone will step on them. Plop.

  • The Kintoon Kommon Touch

Turns out Billary n Bill made 20 times as much as Obama, that uppity coon. So much for the common touch. Big money=big obligations. As far as the south being "conservative", that's shorthand for unrepentant racism. That's why, Little Lara, the south changed from solid democrat from the thirties until the sixties, and is now solid waste. One issue changed that dynamic: civil rights. Crackers don't like 'em. Screw Dixie.

  • Billary's Votes

The biggest pile of manure being spread by the Billbots is that the votes in the non-primaries in michigan and florida belong to Billary. bull. shit. The primaries were non existent. They were non binding. The rules precluded campaigning. It was a shame, a sham, a waste of time, and now, just solid waste. YOU CAN'T BE DISENFRANCHISED IN A PRIMARY. The parties make up their own rules. Some of them suck. All of the candidates and all 55 jurisdictions knew the rules long, long in advance. michigan and florida flipped the party their middle finger. Right back attem. Grow the hell up. Those states, and those votes, don't belong to any fookin' body. No one. If you want rigid rules, be a republikan. Maybe you already are. Here's the truth: until there is true, pervasive, binding campaign finance reform, we've got a hodgepodge, a whorehouse, a toll road with tank traps. Every candidate dealt with those realities. Obama beat the snot out of Hillary is planning for and dealing with reality. MIght not be a bad quality in a leader. Or, we could just coronate Billlary 'cause she was promised the nomination, and she's got a vagina. Pardon me if I'm not impressed. Your "argument" could grow an acre of corn.

This meme is a red herring the size of Moby Dick. When those non-primaries, featuring non-campaigns, happened, there were several candidates, not just the bitch and the brother. Shall we roll back the clock? Everybody gets to run again. Allee, alle, outs in free. Had my fingers crossed. Doesn't count. what schoolyard horseshit. Those states, with full premeditation, told the DNC to piss off. Now, they want us to genuflect? Uh, I don't think so, Tim. run the string out. what happens happens. but stop this revisionist nonsense.

    drip, drip, tick, tock

    billary's going into shock

it's not working, all her schlock

time has come to take a walk

and accept what comes of fate:

    she's a second rate candidate.

Well, Kate, let's examine that premise. In its simplest form, this says "Hillary was almost universally admired until the dastardly Obama came along with his smear machine. Now she has the highest negative of any candidate". Oh, really. I don't have a citation at hand, buy my recollection is that her negatives were in the high forties when this whole thing started, and that is just about where they are now. What she has done, speaking only for myself, is to alienate many of those who found her a woman with many admirable qualities. Now, in my litany, she's down to very smart and very ambitious. The same could be said of Shylock (please, spare me the semitic rants. I chose the name for its universality, not its Jewishness).

Yep. The Merchant of Venice. Famed for being shrewd, very bright, ambitious to a fault. Ironically, in the play, he is bested by a young woman (Portia) posing as a barrister. Some metaphorical references are best unextended. But the analogy stands: an intelligent grasper who loses.

Strictly speaking, of course it is not a first amendment issue. but strict speaking almost never takes place here. it's a biker bar with a better vocabulary. My, but you do run in effete circles; I could never aspire to such heights. I consider myself a progressive, with family roots back to the Minnesota farmer/labor party, which is just about where progressivism started in this tattered country. I'm also old enough and fed up enough not to give a damn whether some graduate student gets his/her/its panties in a wad. Whatever. Pretend this is the senate. there is no cloture. skip my posts. kiss my grits. ignore me. you bore me. love heywood

I'm afraid my deportment here precludes the title of gentleman. I was a sloppy scholar, but did somehow manage a degree in political philosophy and environmental studies from Cal, when it was the #1 university in the country. sorry Harvard. But California budget gutting, starting under ray-gun, has gradually dragged our public schools into the Mississippi mud. That includes ahhhhhnold the pig, cutting teachers while building prisons. republikans.

yeah, everyone's favorite transcendent transsexual, Annie can torture logic into shapes rarely assumed. Obama, Hitler, and Gertrude Stein would make a great threesome. Annie's a threesome all by her lonesome. USC does put out some winners.

Bill and Hill are opportunists, but don't have a racist bone in their collective heads. Pardon the expression head, Bill. But McLame, fascist tool, serial adulterer, voted against MLK day because that's what republikans do. If darkies like it, they don't. It's doctrine. It's what they do.
