[Read the article: Barack Obama, working-class hero?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I ran a bar in the Ozarks for a year. I've worked construction jobs, and landscaping. I know full well that there are wise, grounded, deeply intelligent working class folk. Unfortunately, I also know how many closet klansmen there are out there. Walt Whitman knew our variousness; we're probably a great deal more homogenized than we were a century ago. Strip malls and mega media. And, this being Kate's Day, otherwise known as April Fool's, I'd like to announce that I"ve switched genders, races, and candidates. I'm now a black woman for Billary, and I've love to have a greasy threesome with Hill, Kate, and Mazola. Oh. My. Gawd. Hey, I just flew in from a Klan rally and boy are my arms tired. On a closing note, Obama picks up another Senatorial endorsement, the woman (whose name presently escapes me) from Minnesota. So, those that know the Hillster the best continue to run from her as they would from a burning building. NOw, back to that chamomile. Oh, and piss off, Shawn, you fascist tool. That felt good.

sugarman
[Read the article: Barack Obama, working-class hero?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You're right, but it's sooooo tempting to poke the racist rat in a cage of its own creation. This is not a courtroom; it's not church. It's not congressional testimony (where "I don't recall" is all you really need to say). It's a free for all, a linguistic fling where dung is flung. LIghten up. Now off to market, where geezers get ten percent off on Tuesdays (sale items not included, nor, lamentably, is liquor). Tra la, tra la. screw dixie.

marginalia
[Read the article: Barack Obama, working-class hero?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Clintons are not racists; they are opportunists. They don't care what it takes to win. As far as my own purity: poppycock. I'm fallible down to my toenails. Possibly beyond. But I know closet racists when I hear them. They play in B flat, and they b stupid. No one here knows anyone else. Kate could be a lobsterman from Maine for all I know. His/her/its perspectives are those indivisible from the crackers I used to serve at a bar in the Ozarks, where the unwritten motto was "women and coons are great; everyone should own at least one of each". That's verbatim. Why, might one think, did the solid (waste) south turn from guaranteed Democratic from the twenties on to guaranteed fascist now? Hint: legislation was passed in '64 and '65. Flip, meet flop. That's Katie, and phillips, and shawnie boy, and the rest of the pack of stale crackers. By their fruits shall ye know them. And I smell overripe okra. screw dixie.

Injected, the Selected
[Read the article: Barack Obama, working-class hero?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Of course Obama injected race into the, um, race. He did this by having the temerity to be black. then, even worse, he put the White Queen into a fading second place. Some Murkans don't like that. Quelle surprise.

jameka me puke
[Read the article: Why John Edwards hasn't endorsed Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Name Billary's most recent key endorsement. A senator, perhaps, or someone previously in the Democratic race for President? Zip. Zero. The people that know her best- Dodd, Richardson, senators from Penn and Minn) told her to piss off. Why don't you join her? Bye, Billary.

Bowling for Delegates
[Read the article: Bowling for Pennsylvania]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Billary's still down 156 pledged delegates, and the Bosnian Battle Bitch want to talk bowling. What a colossal loser, a 7/10 split on the alley of electoral politics. She has NOTHING left. Bad puns. Big buns. Endorsements: no one. No fun. April one. Billary's done.

anagrams
[Read the article: Bowling for Pennsylvania]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama bowls for votes badly. The Klintoons blow badly for votes. At least Obama's score was splattered all over the press, not all over Monica's dress. Sod off Billary.

The Bell Curve
[Read the article: Barack Obama, working-class hero?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]One of my favorite lines from Thomas Merton's "Seeds of Contemplation" is "once a proud man (sic) declares himself humble, his case is hopeless". That's where we are with the Klintoonians who honestly feel they are at the high end of the Bell Curve, and that the Bell Curve is a valid, permanent, irrevocable predictor of human value. The meme that blacks are, by and large, lazy, stupid, sexually promiscuous and criminally dangerous is rife in our "Christian" nation. Stated or unstated, it's there in the posts of the Klintoon Klan, and it's sad precisely not because they can't get it, but because they DON'T WANT TO GET IT. WFB, I admire your tenacity, but, like the adherents of that racist bible, The Bell Curve, our friends are beyond the reach of your life preserved. They're in over their heads, and there's not a blasted thing you can do.

In Homage, manos
[Read the article: Barack Obama, working-class hero?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ode to Hillbots:
Leave your ego at the door, and stop posting like a whore
Cease your whining like a scolded pup
Face the facts: the gig is up.

manos, otra vez
[Read the article: Barack Obama, working-class hero?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hey, if one must quote Mel Brooks
To get the better of these schnooks
Humor works where all else fails
With these remnants of hay bales
That plop in pastures nationwide:
The grass may be greener on the other side
But one has to deal with that stench, that smell
That proves the point: Hill's gone to hell
In a handbasket she herself has made:
Be off, and go get Big Bill laid
Instead of staying on the bus
And screwing with the rest of us.
Manos Shave

The Center- of the Beast
[Read the article: The John McCain "centrism" fallacy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yep, honest John is in the center. the center of Bush's tush, the center of the fascist military industrial monopoly. He's a warmonger, a serial adulterer, a lobbyists' wet dream. And, if we don't gather ourselves, maybe the next preznit. However pulled you feel about this primary, and many of us do, when the choice is made it's time to close ranks and keep this loose cannon the hell out of the White House. Please.

Cook/Moore
[Read the article: Barack Obama, working-class hero?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]That early Peter Cook/Dudley Moore stuff was classic, predating even Monty Python. Of course, none of those can hold a candle to our Hillary when she gets goin' on her bowling jokes. For a broad versed in gutter politics, bowling is a natural extension. Go, Billary, go. Away. Keep running. Just go away.
