[Read the article: Moving beyond Obama and race]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]geez, what a pack of morons. Obama joined the church because his wife was a member. Ever read the old testament? Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, all damned Israel- and God himself- repeatedly. Speaking hard, angry truth to power is completely in the Judeo-Christian tradition. IF you want hugs and lollipops, be a Unitarian. God is Jerry Garcia without the drug problems. The only valid underlying point, which many of you prove by your appalling ignorance, is that the Murkan public might well shy away from Obama in the general election because of passages from pastor Wright falling into the echo chamber/sheep pen that is Murkan culture. Obama may have a larger problem: he's too good for the dumbed down, Mall Wart, remote control, disengaged, fat, slow, and stupid Murkan public. Maybe what we have now is exactly what we deserve: an incompetent warmonger, a preppy cheerleader, and phony Texan from Connecticut, and a mirror image of what we've become. The next five months will tell. Perhaps America has devolved from brilliant, brave, eloquent, and flawed, patriots, to sound bite troglodytes like Hill the Shrill Shill and Honest John and his Bullshit Express. love , heywood.

Hilliar
[Read the article: "It is possible ... that she misspoke"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Misspoke. A mere slip of the tongue. A self-glorifying lie. Premeditated falsehood. What a pathetic Gollum like creature we can see billary becoming, diminishing (and losing) by the minute.

Sniping
[Read the article: The Democrats' anti-momentum]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hil-liar, a liar about sniper fire in Bosnia, a liar about her being co-president and responsible for peace in Northern Ireland, a liar about her enabling warmonger george. no wonder she and bill stayed "together"- the only one that would put up with the other WAS the other. May they both go to hell; they're well on their way.

my apologies, madam
[Read the article: The Democrats' anti-momentum]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hey,who can keep up with the prevarications? I never held Bill's serial philandering against her; come to think of it, I wouldn't like to hold ANYTHING against her. Like the patterns in the exit polls in 2000 and 2004, in which every variance favored Bush, every Clinton "misstatement" or creative representation, or whatever other euphemism you care to use, always puts them in the best possible light. Always. THe difference is, Bill was a good liar, in the sense he could make you believe him for a while. the Hillster is a wooden liar, a twitching snitch, a shrill shill. Ugh.

[Read the article: The Democrats' anti-momentum]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Absolutely correct. The financing aspect needs to be dealt with, but the whole notion of "open" primaries begs for monkey wrenching. Finally, I hate to make blanket statements, but here's one: anyone who claims to be a Democrat and votes for McLame in November is a fascist enabler. Quisling. Or, as James Car-vile so telling said about Richardson, a Judas. Don't tell me you have a progressive bone in your empty head if you'd even think about voting for a fooking republikan. Just go the fug away. Stay home. Move to New Zealot Land. Piss off.

[Read the article: The Democrats' anti-momentum]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]That's it. God Bless the hell out of America. Support our troops, semper fi, stay the course, work to do, heckuva job brownie, watch out for them darkies, hide de white wimmin. Anyone wanting to see a textbook shrew-driven pile of bile need only read the post from the "woman" from Texass to see what pastor wright was talking about. Confederate crackers are still around in the millions, and the job of reconstruction and reconciliation that might have taken place after the Civil War (or the War of Northern Aggression, as our Texass pridemonger would call it) but never did still needs to take place. Obama is in a unique, temporary, and fragile position to do that. Many forces well up against him. I'm surprised that Texassbroads friends haven't taken a shot at Barack. Don't think it can't happen again. I lived through '68 and it hasn't worn off, that sense of sorrow at a chance gone forever. Go pound a few lone stars, your pride swelling like a Texass tick, and then maybe, after dark, you and your fellows klan members can burn a cross on some coon's lawn. that'll show 'em for gettin' uppity. love heywood

You're Quite Welcome, Peeps
[Read the article: The Democrats' anti-momentum]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Her post required lancing, and then venting. I apologize that I far too often wax personal and descend into insults and diatribe. But, you know, this election is so incredibly important that I, admittedly, over react to reactionaries. I'm fed up. It's time to get out of the middle of the damned road and choose up sides. then, we can start the process of reconciliation. No, that's not a contradiction in terms. If a bone is improperly set, you can limp the rest of your life. To make it right, you have to rebreak it, with all that pain, for the longer term good and the wholeness you're born to. That's where we are, or at least where I am.

point of order
[Read the article: The Democrats' anti-momentum]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I believe you're mixed apples and quinces with bananas. the rethugs are bananas. I profoundly doubt that 25 or 30 percent of each blue "base" will abandon the party in November. If so, we need to formally disband and form a real party. You don't win 'em all in the primary season, and feeling will be hurt, some deeply- mine for example. But if you think I'll sit home and let McLame take over without a fight, think again. I'll vote for HIllary as if she were RFK/FDR/MLK and Eleanor Roosevelt all together in one lumpy package. This is not a game, fans. The time has come to suck it up, or tacitly approve four more years of death in Iraq (figure at least 1500 more dead, and 20K more grievously wounded, and maybe another trillion down the septic tank), and more wealth welfare, more reich wing court appointees (sealing the fate of the Supreme Court for AT LEAST fifteen or twenty years). so grow the hell up. If the Democratic Party can screw this up, it's time to dissolve it. I do not yet despair. It ain't even April, and the Murkan attention span is about two weeks. tom
