  • John Paul

[Read the article: The mainstream, sane, serious Joe Lieberman]

To what extent, good sir, is it not true that the American reich wing and the Xtian fundies shamelessly use Israel, not for its own sake, but for their political gain? Call it hate, you poor child, but it is not; it's the Gospel, New Testament style, as hijacked by the core of the republikan partei. In their hearts, those fascist weasels have no use for jews, or blacks, or women, other than as instruments of their will. Refute away, spammer.

When there's screwing of this magnitude going on, it's academic who's on top. With the equally morally bankrupt Israelis and the reichwing republikans, it's of no consequence which is the whore and which the john. Shalom, and hide the salami.

  • Ageism Cuts Both Ways

[Read the article: Too young to tie your tubes?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

For those who hate children, consider your incipient, if not already present, old age. Lots of people don't care to be around old folks. They're inconvenient, incontinent, forgetful, drive up health care costs, drive poorly, and remind us of our own mortality. Children are small people with stringent care requirments; the geriatric crowd are bent-over people with stringent care requirements. I hate to break it to you, bucko, but you were a kid, and with an luck, you'll get old. If you hate kids, you hate yourself. Try this for a change: be human and have compassion for the whole of the human condition. America is profoundly shallow and youth worshiping, and would just as soon all the messy stuff happen out of sight, in a day care center or an institution. shame on us.

  • Bad Religion, Indeed

How much comfort did you offer your grandparents? You admire suicide? I think it's to our mutual benefit we are'nt (closely) related. I know my children will care for me, as we are currently immersed in eldercare with my father, in the mid stages of Alzheimer's, and my wife's mom, lucid but wheelchair bound. Is it hard? Hell yes. Should we just shoot them and save ourselves the inconvenience? Not in our value system. It's a tough planet. Kindess is rare. I do not hold with those who would make it rarer. Hemingway was a coward, in my estimation, when his "manliness" waned and he had nothing in his soul to make him strong enough to persevere. Spare me the "personal choice" argument; of course it is. You could end it all now and do away with the uncertainty of it all. Horrid disease is not limited to the aged, you know. Could come tomorrow. I hope it doesn't, and, if it does, you reconsider your perspective.

  • Is Sterilization Freedom?

[Read the article: Too young to tie your tubes?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Should a 21 year old man have a vascectomy so he can nail as many women as he can with reproductive impunity? How can any person in their early twenties, or earlier than that, know how their lives may take unexpected turns during their repoductive years? How facile, how flip, to make so profound a decision sound like judging whether or not to get a tatoo? Bear children, or not, and the choice should be yours alone (I speak here to women), but do not underestimate the power of the biology that drives far more of our behaviour than we might care to admit. Forfeiting forever your chance to have a child is a deep and perilous thing. At the very least, don't trivialize it. I say these things as a man who had a vascectomy at 33, and I struggled mightily with that decision. But my wife had undergone an emergency C-section with a premature child (five weeks early), that could have cost both of them their lives. I was not willing to chance the well being of the love of my life. If you don't wrestle long and hard with this kind of decision, I wonder about your humanity, and your capacity to care for anyone other than yourself. Beware slogans and quick solutions to life's most troubling, and rewarding, situations.

  • Lie-ber"man"

[Read the article: Joe Lieberman, from his indie perch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Quisling, sellout, lapdog, house coon, turncoat, liar, and coward. If he had a modicum of manhood, he would have taken his primary ass whipping like a man and gone on to whore for the drug companies. He's not that honest.

  • Kiss My Asterisk, Hypocrites

[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If every athlete in the past twenty years in major American sports were banished, we'd be left with the WNBA. Bonds was pitched to,when they had the stones to actually throw strikes, were thrown by enhanced pitchers, and the balls that stayed in the park were caught by enhanced fielders. Most estimates are that far more than 50% of major league baseball players have "used" at one time or another. Brady Anderson, anyone? If taking enhancers makes you superman, where the hell are the rest of the records? Only three players in baseball history have three hundred or more homers and stolen bases: Andre Dawson, Bobby Bonds, and Barry Bonds. The 400/400 and 500/500 clubs have one member: Barry Bonds. Even assuming you hypocrites are correct, and that his later statistics have been somewhat inflated, no one in 120 years of major league ball can come within a country mile of Bonds. Seven MVPs, nine gold gloves- those are all because of steriods, right? Where weere you jerks during the big celebration over the race between McGuire and Sosa? Kiss my asterisk.

  • Rover Returns to Kennel

[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So the plump fascist thug/slug slinks away, bloody hands and fat bank intact. What hell he's helped unleash, pun intentional. He was the second most loathesome toady in the Whore House, exceeded in unvarnished evil only by The Dick. I'd wish Rover a life of regret, but that would presume the existence of a conscience. I'd also tell him to go to hell, but he's got one foot in the Pit and one foot on a banana peel (eaten by his pet monkey George). Beneath contempt, you flabby traitor.

  • The Meese Theory of Jurisprudence

[Read the article: The Padilla verdict]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"They wouldn't arrest them if they weren't guilty". Ed Meese, Tacobellgrande Gonzales' ideological predecessor. What's next? Yellow stars on our garments? Shameless fascist bastards.
