  • Gary Owen is Absolutely Right

[Read the article: Lewis Libby owes his freedom to our corrupt political elite]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The fascist takeover worked. Americans don't vote and don't care, as long as their cable works and Mallwart is open. There was a naked coup in 2000, a highly suspect "terrorist attack" on September 11 that greased the skids for almost every despicable act by these thugs in the past five years. The economy is the least just since the very early twentieth century, the federal courts, most notably the Krispy Kreme Kourt, are entrenched to be reich wing for at least a decade, even if Democrats sweep both other branches next year. Hundreds of thousands of innocent people have died in Iraq; New Orlean and the gulf coast, except for the rich enclaves, are still in ruins, and, other than Bushit approval ratings heading for the teens, nothing, not one damned thing, has happened. Here's a scenario for ya: Freddie "Aw Shuck'ns" Thompson runs against Billary and wins. The house and senate majorities increase slightly, but not to veto proof levels, and death continues in the MIddle East unabated. Wanna bet?

I would LOVE to be dead wrong. Edwards/Obama landslide, 60 votes in the Senate (NOT counting Lieberthing) and 250 in the house. I'd buy a couple cases of Gloria Ferrer brut rose, and pour for any progressive that shows up. This is a bet in which losing would be a huge, historic victory. But I"ve been around politics since I was a boy (the first Eisenhower campaign, if that gives you a hint) and Thompson has that greasy appeal that is good for at least two thirds of the electoral votes it takes, and, unlike Dumbya, is nobody's fool. A fool, yes, but not a Bushista, and fully capable of distancing himself from Queen Georgie. May you prevail, Kitt. More importantly, may America prevail.

The most relevant numbers in current murkan politics are Bushit's approval ratings, kamikaze diving toward the teens, and 5-4 decision after decision eviscerating human rights. Eleven is an approximation of the Patooter's IQ. Whimper fi.

Here's what to do: register to vote, and make sure all your like minded family and friends do likewise. Contribute what you can to the candidate(s) that light your fire. For me right now, that would be Edwards and Obama. Call your congressional reps and demand that they introduce articles of impeachment. Call repeatedly. If there are street actions, join them. Stay informed. The computer is a great tool, but also a great time sucker. It's time to act. Now. when you've done those things, get back to us. thanks

  • Owens Red Star Fetish

Does mommy give her good little boy stars? How old are you? There's a preppy edge, a whiff of priviledge, with all your Kitt snarking. Meanwhile, Shooter the Sheep and his malted grain malaprops seem almost refreshing: they're just plain stump stupid, their own refutation. Obstruction of justice is just what the name infers: it thwarts a legal process and a valid grand jury investigation by lieing. So who gives a flying Cheney who gets stars and who does not? Ego problems, Gary Boy? Get over it.

  • Chronology Ain't Causation

[Read the article: We almost forgot!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Boy preznit is correct. Boy Georgie has a mental maturity age of about 14, pride-swollen preppie whose daddy greases the skids. May 61 roman candle supposiories find their way to his royal arse. 25 more dead Americans in July, on pace for a fourth consecutive month with 100 or more useless, pointless, tragic deaths. Every one of them is George's fault. It's his war. He owns it, lock, stock, and empty oil barrel. No happy returns, you warmongering fascist tool.

  • IT'S ALL ABOUT DICK

[Read the article: Will White House tell Taylor not to comply with subpoena?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Scooter, Harriet, endless lieing and stonewalling: it's all engineered by The Dick, the power behind the drone.

  • Another Tightass Pullout

[Read the article: GOP hawks' sudden conversion]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Yeah, surge away, Tightass; it's goin' real well. Just needs a few more months, a few hundred more useless deaths. The fascist apologists in the Senate booked first class tickets on the Titanic, and now the ice water is up to the lido deck and they want a heated hovercraft to evacuate. Screw 'em. This is bush's war, a republikan war, and it's an albatross the size of King Kong around their pencil necks. Have a lovely election, Tightass. Vote for Mitt; he's your type: stupid.

  • Good Point, Jack

[Read the article: GOP hawks' sudden conversion]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

But it's not either/or. With the Bushistas, you can get it all: indifference, incompetence, greed, belligerence, blind patriotism, unprovoked aggression, stump stupidity, and arrogance. It's the multifecta, Jack, brought to you by today's republikans party and yesterday's lazy voters. In what sense is this still a democracy? A dormant one, I'm afraid. Time for the big paddles: STAT!

  • Analonymous

[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Which part is demonstrably untrue, oh fount of fascist wisdom? Honey. Or does your "patriotism" blind your third eye, too? Whatta marroon.

  • Anal Anonymous, Wrong Again

[Read the article: Our broken political discourse]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Your Commander Codpiece is the fake Texass boy; he's from Connecticut. Molly was from Austin, and Texan to the bone. She knew much of Texass was and is part of the confederacy. She had more brains in her nail clippings than Bushit does in his deserting empty head.

  • ISG BFD

[Read the article: GOP hawks' sudden conversion]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Sure, the ISG is toilet paper. And, yes, coffeeman, there is a dance in the desert, but it's the dance of death- about three or four Americans a day at this point, ten times that in Iraqi casualties. The death is distinctly not Kabuki; it's dead real.

  • Kutesy Katie Kouric Bombs

[Read the article: No apologies, Katie Couric!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Her failure has nothing to do with gender, and everything with an absence of credibility. Give Christiane Amanpour a news desk on one of the big three; then we'll see what shakes out. Katie never had it and ain't gonna get it. She's a cheeleader. Maybe she should run for preznit. Worked for Georgie.

  • Fuxxsnooze Justice

[Read the article: Bush calls Libby commutation "fair and balanced"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Rich powerful white people skate on slime, the poor, brown, and black have to do their time. Fair and balanced, facist style. Whatta country. while the tapdance goes on, 32 more American soldiers have died this month so far. Surge, baby, surge.

  • Buck Off

[Read the article: Our broken political discourse]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What was the outcome in Bosnia, Bucko? How many American soldiers died? And how are things going in Eye-rack, Bucko? Nice false parallel. Why do you think Lady Justice holds a scale in her hand? To weigh fish? Jeez.
