How crass. Erin Aubry Kaplan you should be ashamed of yourself. She's not your sorority sister or some chic you used to run with in high school. Michelle Obama is the mother of two YOUNG girls and the first lady of The United States of America. Just becuase you can't or won't take the street out of how you express yourself doesn't mean it is appropriate for you to address and talk about everyone else so casually. Grow up!
Can the readers now expect to be confronted with scribbles about a particular politician's loins too? Oh, don't stop there. I personally, can only relate to women who are generously endowed and wear low cut tight tops. Give me some love.
Just because you can print anything you want doesn't mean you should. This article was totally inappropriate and you've opened a pandora's box now. Thanks for your contribution to the dumbing down of American political discourse.
Here is my initial reaction when I read this dribble...
"You've got to be fucking kidding me..."
I didn't print that because I was trying not to offend but the fact is Joan Walsh & Erin don't seem to have a problem offending me. I have 3 sisters, a young niece and a number of African American female cousins. Their value & contributions to the world far surpass the circumferences' of their butts Ms. Walsh. You owe your readers and apology!
Ms. Walsh,
Caroline Kennedy won't and shouldn't support Rep. Maloney's candidacy for the simple reason that Caroline Kennedy wants to be the senator. You make this assertive statement that that's what Kennedy should do but don't say why? Why should Maloney be the senator, just because she's been in congress? I lived in the same congressional district in ohio for 25yrs under the same congressman before his retirement and I voted for him everytime I could, but I wouldn't have voted for him to put him in U.S. Senate.
Kennedy is qualified if for no other reason than she can raise the money it will take to hang on to that seat. The facts that she is accomplished professionally and is on the right side of core democratic issue like education is a big bonus. In politics money is the name of the game you let me know when senators don't have to be able to raise globs of money to get re-elected, especially in a state like New York.
