You're a strong, independant woman

...so give the ring back. You have no use for a piece of jewelry which once symbolized unity, but does no more - you can afford to buy one for yourself. If he refuses the return, then it's up to you what you want to do with it. Family heirlooms are entering into an entirely different ballgame - it shouldn't even need to be discussed what happens with those.

I know women from both sides of the argument. Some keep the ring, stating it's payment for the time spent with her...others want to have nothing to do something which represents a failed relationship, and move on. Still others justify keeping it because "it was a gift, and I like it on my finger to show off".

But Ann Landers said it better than I. Good old fashioned advice - give the ring back.

irrevalent, considering...

To be a child star - you'd have to realize there are ugly truths that aren't talked about, especially if you're a female. There are things that you have to be willing to do if you want a shot at the top - things I won't discuss here.

Having said that...the whole deflowering topic is moot.

Bad headline

Should have read:

"Why do men and women want to coach little girls"

Is that not true? Was Sey not coached by a team of a man and a woman?

Jebus who cares

How did this even make Broadsheet headlines? There's nothing offensive about it, and you people are way over-analyzing it.

I bet you if Hilary Clinton did the same thing to a man, Broadsheet wouldn't even take notice.

You're there to help make the company $$$

I'm going to say things that many will not like one bit, but they are the way things are.

A company's objective is to make money. Pure and simple. Make a profit, so it can do things with that profit, ie. pay the staff, pay for EI, benefit packages, raises and so on. Now that we have that established:

At its core, there are two roles:

- Hunter(Hunts and brings in food so everyone can feed)

- Support(skins, cooks, distributes the meat)

You either generate business/income or you play a support role. Salesman? Hunter. Manager? Support. Accountant? Support. Technician? Depends how much you bill for your time and services, and whether you are just feeding off of the Salesman's contracts or finding customers on your own to meet your quota.

Now you say you're an admin assistant. Which puts you squarely in a support role. You're not bringing in new business. You're not generating income. You're there to support the people who bring in the business - the people who play a bigger role in the company's survival than you. With that understanding:

All this "open door" stuff and fancy BS is all just window dressing to make things prettier but doesn't do a thing for the bottom line. So you have some grievance with one of your superiors. With the real objective of the company in mind - does all this really matter?

Seriously now - does it? At least you only pissed off someone in a support role, versus one who actually does the hunting.

holy smokes

...what's the big deal?! Seriously.

Is it condescending when your father, or any other male were to hug you? Come on.

Original article: Your daily Palin

Amazing

Wow, you women *aren't* actually supporting Palin? Incredible. This makes Broadsheet history, for once that a MAN isn't being attacked for once. Now THAT's 9/11 material.

Original article: Was Palin's e-mail hacked?

Definitely something we can agree on

It doesn't matter if it was Sarah Palin or any other person for matter. Picture your own email account hacked, and it's contents open for all to see. Sure some of you might go "i don't care, go ahead" - how about something else you hold private. Now you understand how others might feel.

Never mind Sarah Palin. Never mind anyone in politics. The way to gain some perspective on this, is to imagine your own account being hacked. It could be a judge, a doctor, even a computer tech. There's stuff in there that are not meant for others to see, aside from just you, and the people you meant for the communication to be sent to. Your daughter's phone number? Address info? Think about it.

double standard

Whatever your opinion might be on this, you have to make sure it is consistent, whether the kid who's throwing out naked pictures is a boy or a girl. It still seems as if broadsheet favors girls over boys no matter what the scenario might be, and taking this approach isn't what wins the type of audience that broadsheet needs more of for feminist thinking - and that's more men.

This story also doesn't answer endless questions as to why the young lass did what she did? Was she pressured by her peers? Would she be in the "cool" circle if she did what she did? Or does she actually truly see a career in porn, and decided to put her feelers out there and see where things led? It could be any number of reasons.

Original article: Sneak peek: The Palin porno

I saw it

It was funny and cheesy like most porn. The gal makes a vaguely passing resemblance of Palin but it's mostly due to the glasses and the hair.

Satire-wise it's not the greatest but not the worst. Porn-wise it's about the same as other porn of its caliber.

hmm

So Broadsheet, you gonna vote for Mccain then? Palin's there...come on...don't be scared ;)
