Don't be a sucker
[Read the article: Why McCain provokes paranoia on the right]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"...as a moderate/left leaning Democrat, I feel alot more at ease with a supposed moderate like Mccain getting the nomination as opposed to someone as extreme as Huckabee. Mccain and Obama or Clinton in the general doesn't really inspire the same kind of depression that the lose/lose Bush and Kerry election did."
GOP bobbleheads like Limbag, Coulter, etc are screeching that McCain is a liberal. Don't believe the hype - that is just to sucker in Independents & Dems that a McCain presidency won't be "so bad". It will - he is anti-choice, will appoint rightwing judges, wants war in Iraq forever.
Our country will be a vastly different place if we have "moderate maverick" like McCain instead of a Dem like Clinton or Obama.

Where's the bestiality?
[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Lil' Ricky forgot to mention how the Demoncrats brought us man-on-dog sex - I'm still waiting to see it on FauxNews.
When we do, it will probably be a GOoper caught doing it.
-
McCain doesn't need contraception - so he doesn't care!
[Read the article: McCain on contraception [12-second pause]]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]McCain is like a lot of these GOoPer nuts. If he doesn't need contraception (too old) and his kids can get it(they're rich) -who cares about what anyone else needs!
Contraception and abortion will always be available for the wealthy - if it's banned in one state, they can travel to another; if it's banned in the US, they can travel to Canada or Europe (as women did in the 50s-60s).
I wish someone would ask him his POV on Colorado's proposed constitutional amendment declaring that a fertilized egg is a person. Can't wait to the see "maverick" on that one.

Rice is a no-go - No husband, no kids, no way!
[Read the article: Rove for Romney?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Do you think GOP fundicrats will stand for an uppity black woman with no husband (other than GWB)?

Like so many widgets
[Read the article: Should biotech piggy go to market?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"This enzyme...could solve one of the major environmental problems associated with industrial pig farms...Scientists at Virginia Tech are trying to clone cattle that would be genetically incapable of developing mad cow disease, a deadly brain-wasting illness spread by feeding cows, normally herbivores, the meat and bone meal of infected cattle."
So this is basically the superhigh-tech way of conforming food animals to factory production. Essentially the same as pumping cows full of antibiotics because their stomachs aren't designed to eat pounds of grain, but rather grass. And instead of cleaning up the manure ponds, they'll just make sure the pig poo that seeps into your well water has less phosphorus - how nice.
I don't expect this pork or beef to be very tasty, just cheap!
-
Swine ponds
[Read the article: Should biotech piggy go to market?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Of course they are a big problem! So why is the solution to attempt to reduce the phosphorus in the pig waste, so that when the million gallon pond overflows it won't be so deadly? Why not reduce the SIZE of the damn ponds, or figure out ways to contain the waste better?
Does anyone believe that making a genetic change in the digestive system of pigs is not going to have some other terrible consequence further down the line? We've already seen the impact of feeding herbivores animal bi-products (Mad Cow disease) or forcing cows to eat massive amounts of grain (antibiotic resistince).

burkas are feminine, too!
[Read the article: "See, here at Fox we like to be feminine"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Why stop at skirts? And they should highlight the gender differences by making their male newsreaders wear codpieces so no one confuses them with the girls.
-
I want what he's smoking!
[Read the article: "Pennsylvania prefers a beefier sort than either of these people"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Tweety must be totally high to spout this nonsense. Maybe he was confusing elected officials from Pennsylvania with members of the Steelers or Eagles? Perhaps the Flyers or Penguins? Those are usually some "beefy" guys.
I wonder if MSNBC has any kind of random drug test policy, because Chrissy is definitely going to fail.

not all "lavender" products contain lavender
[Read the article: Free drugs from your faucet]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Lavender oil may be a culprit in the connection with boys growing breast tissue. Many of the major branded laundry and cleaning products do not contain lavender oil, but rather synthetic fragrances. Read the labels before you buy.

What a doofus
[Read the article: N.Y. Gov. Spitzer linked to prostitution ring]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Don't these guys watch The Wire? Anybody knows you don't handle any "business" over the phone.
-
You are so right, Tina Schrier
[Read the article: In India, there's big money in wombs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"I too think that insisting on raising your biological children, no matter what it costs or who you have to use, is very poor ethics and huge waste of resources."
Sometimes we just have to accept that we can't always have everything we want and redirect our energies to other purposes.

iron-clad contract?
[Read the article: More "common ground" on abortion? ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So what happens when a woman delivers the disabled baby and the adoptive family changes their mind? Who is responsible for the kid now?
-
Newsflash! Car thieves don't want your kids!
[Read the article: Have you ever left your toddler in a car?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"and the car was stolen with the kid in the backseat"
Did you leave the keys in the ignition? I'll bet if you left 3 or 4 screaming toddlers in your car while posting a letter, no one would steal your mini-van!

Dr Laura knows what she's talking about
[Read the article: Dr. Laura to Silda: It's all your fault!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Cut the phony Dr some slack:
While working at USC, she met Dr. Lewis G. Bishop, who was married with dependent children. According to divorce filings, Schlessinger and Bishop began an affair. Bishop left his wife after more than 20 years of marriage, and moved in with Schlessinger. They lived together as an unmarried couple

Who could have predicted?
[Read the article: Who predicted the credit crunch abyss?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sound familiar? I guess Osama bin Laden should have sent them a Fedex with all of the details and they might have figured it out. Guess Bush didn't wiretap the right people.
-
Duh!
[Read the article: Nancy Reagan to endorse McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Who else was she going to endorse - Obama?
-
Stupidity
[Read the article: Time columnist: Gore-Obama in '08?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"And yet ... is this scenario any more preposterous than the one that gave John McCain the Republican nomination?"
I'm with ceytron on this one. Didn't the GOP have a bunch of people VOTE in primaries all over the country for several months and McCain got the most votes? Or did I just imagine that preposterous scenario?

No job = less driving?
[Read the article: Kicking the gas-guzzling habit]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Unemployed former commuters no longer on the road cuts down on overall driving levels. See, Bush does have a program to reduce greenhouse gases!
-
Wait a minute!
[Read the article: Have a daughter? You wimp]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"And what about that earlier study which informed us that goodlooking people tend to have a firstborn female child?"
I missed this study completely! My parents are total hotties - and their firstborn is a female.
