speech and axing the Eastern Europe missile deployment were huge steps toward peace which the rest of the world recognizes, even if our beltway gasbags do not.
...... not enough explosions, violence and mayhem to garner Step's rap attention? Some movies just don't rely on blood to be good...... Brokeback Mt. was a bit slow, but still a winner.
Everybody gets their final 30 days for free. Instead of charging the family or insurance company for the last 30 days, charge the hospitals for the last 30 days. They're the ones really making all of the money for the so called 'end of life" decisions - racking up charges to insurance companies and families. Put all those on the way out into a simple low cost way to die with dignity & a morphine drip. This would transform out entire system over night and cut costs by 25%. .
.........."Give 'em what they want" ......which in Madoff's case was 14% annually.
Sure he's a sociopathic fisherman. Stick the worm ($) on the hook of greed and drop it in the waters off Palm Beach. Bingo.
By the way I don't think the money is gone. New reports say he never bought the securities. My guess is that much of it is in an underground vault in cash on one of his properties.
Ask yourself: would a scumbag Ponzi schemer like Madoff risk giving the money to someone else who could be just another low life crook like himself?
Here's a 'shovel ready' job. 20 guys with metal detectors and shovels in all of Bernie's backyards.
Absolutely 100% right on.
This election will NOT be decided on the issues, it's all about Palin and McCain as people, who they are and how they tap into the cultural archetypes. If the Mountain Dew swilling Bible gripping rednecks think "she's one of us," they'll vote for her. Issues be dammed.
This election will take place at an emotional, lymbic level. (Read Clotaire Rapaille)
So Salon please keep these type of personel history articles coming and don't listen to the pinhead intellectuals. Her past is the clue to her character.
For example: What's the story on all those colleges she attended. What was she doing then?
Sure gas is expensive, but owning and driving an "RV" is still cheaper than staying in some shitbag motel for $100/$200 a night particularly if you're out on the road for a while. Yuck, talk about throwing away money - motels are the worst. a $100 a night is $3000 a month.
I stayed in San Francisco for 6 weeks last winter in my camper and spent zero dollars on rooms. It takes a bit of shuffling around but well worth it particularly when you have a bicycle to get around after parking down at the beach for the entire day for free.
The state park system in most states are excellent and cheap and you can stay there for 14 days without leaving.
go off on Terry McAuliffe. Social space be dammed. Politeness be damned. No words are needed .......just some creative silent miming would have worked quite fine........or pull out that trusty pocket kazoo and give him the full blast of razz. You'd have to be willing to make a bit of a fool of yourself, but it feels really really good......
They said MAD mag would rot your brain and they were right...... thank god!!! , ......can you image how much worse things would be today if the 50s kids hadn't been slapped up the side of the head with MAD Mag and shown the "real world" of parents, TV, school, church and Hollywood........
Chinese-American food is popular because it's salty, fatty, greasy and there's always a lot of it- the perfect American food. The "buffet" is a way for our home grown 300-400 lbers (big fat pigs) to take a break from McDonalds for a meal. If there's an unhealthier food out there I can't imagine what it might be.
If you want to be really shocked count the number of Chinese restaurants in your home town!!!!! And within ten or twenty years that number will double--these people are not only poisoning us, BUT putting all other restaurants out of business.
........is my favorite "TV show." And the ONLY one that I try and catch everyday. In one short half hour you get 97% of all the sports news anyone could possibly need in a 24-hour period. And it's funny too.
.........the last sequence of 'Brokeback Mountain", with Ennis' now grownup daughter coming to tell him of her upcoming marriage, is truly remarkable - both funny and heartbreaking. One of the best ever. When I come across the end of the movie on HBO I always take a moment to sit down and watch it again. Powerful,..... and the score...............
is that people switched to HRC between the time of the last poll and yesterday.
In a 24/7 TELEVISION news cycle Hillary's tears come right thru the screen and people felt it. It was real emotion, and they got it, and they switched over on the spot. No big mystery. Heart over head. Cynics can't see there, but it's really the same thing Obama generates - a "feeling."
There must be a word for a public that wanted "to have a beer with" a man who doesn't drink alcohol.
Kansas O. haters are like my old friend Betsy who would go to the movies, and then walk out within the first 10 or 15 minutes. The characters would barely be introduced and she'd start snorting, grumbling and then get up and leave. She was a good friend, but an annoying asshole and cultural snob when it came to movies.
"big brother" would be a camera in every room watching us, .......but it's really a screen in every room and we're watching it -- a much simplier system. And, if it's not on TV, it's not real.
