Integrity & Slime ???
[Read the article: Integrity and slime, in old media and new]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Joan..
How do those two words, "integrity" and "slime" factor into one of your editorial endeavors.. appearing on HARDBALL?
Do you feel that your credibility will somehow remove the SLIME from Chris Matthews and HARDBALL?
Above, you brag about introducing Politico's story about mis-accounting for Guiliani's security detail to the HARDBALL IGNORAMUS DEN.
Matthew's lead story last night was about Bill Clinton's assertion that he was against the Iraq war from the start.
Given the magnitude of the Rudy news yesterday, is there any reason why a program focused on politics would ignore such a big story about a leading candidate in favor of a minor tangent by the husband of a candiate?
And how could it be that Matthews appeared not to know about the development until you mentioned it?
Well, if you're Chris Matthews there's a reason to ignore the Rudy news in favor of Bill Clinton's comments. The Clinton story gave him another opportunity to nurse his personal grudge against the Clintons. It allowed him to look astonished, scolding and angry.
How can you appear on, and defend, a program which has such an obvious agenda that it skips the news of the day to concentrate on a hobby-horse?
It is great that Salon goes after credibility issues agaisnt NEW YORK TIMES and TIME. But your own credibility is shot when you unapologetically appear on a slimy & sleazy program run by a wannabe.
Double standards wound those who support them, Joan.

Hardball
[Read the article: Don't ignore Shtup-gate!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I am looking forward to HARDBALL tonight.
Will Joan's friend Chris Matthews(that's what she calls him) even mention either of these two serious, serious stories about the past misdeeds of Guiliani?
Here's my prediction:
Good evening.. it's HARDBALL!
Things look bad for Rudi; who was driving his girlfriend? What are his connections to terrorist states?
Also.. Obama and his wife are still in love.
But how are we going to stomach Hillary Clinton for one second more?
The wife of "Clinton" says she's not thinking of her possible defeat in the primaries. Is that kind of callow self confidence what you need to win? Or is it the recepie for defeat?
Let's play HARDBALL!
Joining me tonight is Joan Walsh of Salon.
Joan, what should we make of the fact that Hillary is a confident woman? Why won't she apologize for having confidence in her candidacy?
Well Chris... Blahhhhh.
Betcha that's how it goes tonight!

Dear Madam President...
[Read the article: Why is Clinton struggling? Insert answer here]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ignore all of this bullshit, Madam President.
The media is increasingly nervous that all of it's anti-Hillary-failure-narratives are failing to make a dent in your national support.
Let the media worry about the failure-narratives. You've got work to do and history to make!

EXCUSE ME?
[Read the article: Clinton strategist: Sorry about -- cough, cocaine! -- that Obama drug story]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama has insufficient national experience to be president; he can't answer a question; his positions don't jive with his rhetoric or reality; his desire to be president is about as legit as was that of George W. Bush.
So what are you advocating in screeching against asking about the man's past drug distribution and use?
That we let him skate away as we did Bush? Not revealing he was busted for drunk driving until the last week of the 2000 campaign?
To all those feeling sorry for the stick man from Illinois, is this what we want?
Another untested, sneaky man who cries rather than confront issues and questions?
The one way for the democrats to lose the white house in 2008 is to nominate this man. I'll stay home before I vote for another inexperienced nobody.

Opinions-Mshminions
[Read the article: Bloggers mature, the New York Times stumbles]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I have to agree that Bill Kristol is an insult to integrity. When I see him smirking on Faux News, I wonder if I'm looking at a smile of embarassment for being wrong so often;of smugness for his intellectual fraud; or of pleasure at being accountability-free.
But is this the end of the NYT? Not likely. This is the newspaper of Whitewater, Ken Starr, Lincoln Bedroom and Judith Miller. Now they will have Kristol on the Opinion page. I can take it.
But double standards I cannot take. If Kristol's presence will cheapen the times; what do you make of Joan Walsh repeatedly appearing on one of the biggest lie-fests on Television?
The Chris Matthews Show has distinguished itself by defining an axe to grind, then skillfully cherry-picking facts to support its narrative. Joan appears regualrly.
The bias is obvious and odious and fact free. But has that stopped Joan Walsh from appearing on this slime-fest? She even calls Matthews er "friend".
So, should I cancel my subscription to Salon (if I had one) because one of its leaders won't show the integrity she seems to demand from others? Not likely.
The world is full of noise and we have to live with it.
Over to you, Joan.

Obama gets nomination...
[Read the article: Barack Obama's nouvelle vague]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]... Republicans win White House.
And the opportunity to appoint enuff SC justices to ensure the Republican agenda remains in place for centuries.
No thanks to the Stick Man from Illinois. Hope and desire aren't enough, sir.
Plus, how conventional wisdom annointed him as an inspiring speaker says more about modern oratory than it does about Obama's supposed skills.
The man is boring, uninspiring, intellectually lazy. A wannabe.
After eight years of George W Bush, we can't afford to let such an insubstantial person lead our party.

Really?
[Read the article: The debate through the eyes of Clinton loyalists]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Are we really getting ready to elect another amateur?
To put another untested, unvetted, unquestioned, learn-on-the-job change maker into the oval office?
Will our herd mentality make it happen?
Now I see how presidents are elected in USA.
