@Kate I'm Shocked

No my point is that so many people are 'shocked' that dudes like the Rev Wright are out there.

I don't consider Rev Wright a skeleton, sorry. He's exactly the type of person we're trying to get beyond. But if you don't even know he is there, then there are bigger problems. And nice try, but I'm not going for the "vote for him because he's black riff". Selecting a candidate based on race or sex has never been a priority of mine, and still isn't.

I've watched you guys get increasingly out there struggling to diminish Obama. And most of that time is wasted trying to tell me how deluded I am rather than showing me some facts. If you don't want to vote for him, I'm cool with that. But if you want to change my mind, then I suggest a change in tactics.

Anytime you want to get back to the issues like Iraq, Healthcare, campaign strategy, our economy and the ongoing demise of the US dollar as the world's reserve currency, I'm game.

@Kate Goldilocks and the three Obamas

Thanks for the reply. Sadly this thread is a response to another one of Salon's passive agressive articles. Why this 'article' didn't show up 6 months ago is beyond me. And yes, this is a new thread, but a lot of the same people are posting in it, with the same positions. I do read the posts, and comment on them as we all do.

Obama was always going to have to continue to deal with race, one way or the other. I call it Goldilocks and the three Obamas. Goldilocks looked at the first Obama and said he was too white. This was a lot of folks in Chicago from the article linked to in 2000.Goldilocks looked at the second Obama and said he was too black That's were we are right now, having to deal with the legacy of a certain type of black politics and black liberation theology. The third Obama, is he just right? We'll find out. The moral of the story, of course, is that there was only one Obama all along. People see what they want to see.

Link: http://www.chicagoreader.com/obama/000317/

Finally I'll leave you with an excerpt from that interesting article from 2000:

"We have more in common with the Latino community, the white community, than we have differences, and you have to work with them, just from a practical political perspective," he says. "It may give us a psychic satisfaction to curse out people outside our community and blame them for our plight. But the truth is, if you want to be able to get things accomplished politically, you've got to work with them."

The language is strikingly similar to language used by Obama today. If I was NYShooter and my merry band of eggheads, I'd say it'd only underscores the increased deviousness of the Obama sting, the foresight to start his unification message nearly eight years ago. Crafty guy, that Obama.

ljwalker53 Wasn't just Howard Dean

Why should Florida voters pay for what Republicans did to their primary date? It was obviously political on their part. Now Democrats there have to pay the price? What is Howard Dean thinking?

But it wasn't just Howard Dean. There was some other stupid committee that made a deal with IA and NH and SC going first. I agree that the situation sucks. But I think the florida democrat party also has to bear some responsibility.

@Kate VoiceLess

Yeah, saw that. If only the Republicans could run this country and the Iraq war the same way they've allegedly managed to manipulate the democratic primary. We'd all be on easy street.

I've asked WES to show me the numbers on all the Republicans cross dressing for Obama. Nada. Now I see posts about all the Republicans cross dressing for Hillary in TX, OH, MI. They don't have any numbers either (well, they put some numbers, but no links so it don't count)

Color me somewhat skeptical until some hard poll data shows up.

@J'Smog Where's the BFD

Exactly. I don't see one.

So I can point out hypersensitivity where it is self-evident without you giving me a lecture.

You can continue to entertain, and I'll continue to lecture.
