Original article: Rolling with the punches

Roll

The UK is great, but methinks Keilor is over-romanticizing the issue (hey, first time for everything.)

Londoners do roll with the punches. That’s why their government could put thousands of cameras to watch their citizens, with nary a peep.

That’s why they have “community support officers” that have the power to detain any UK citizen at any time for any reason. As stated in their recruiting material, “Community support officers provide a visible and reassuring presence on the streets.” I hate to go Orwell, but “reassuring”? Roll with it baby!

Maybe the Londoners, Californians and, hell, everybody else, should stop rolling with the punches so well, and throw a few punches of our own.

Original article: Plot to kill Obama?

Damn right not credible

This story shows you just how the police can twist any statement by a suspect.

I hate to use the term, but these people are basically, “white trash”. Meth sellers (and users).

Look at their equipment. “Two rifles, a high powered scope, a walkie-talkie, several boxes of ammunition”. I brought more than that on my last hunting trip. And what’s a “high powered scope”? Is that like, “tactical military gear” or “assault rifle”? Ohh! Scary!

These guys are drug runners. They’re armed because of that. And the only reason Obama and assassination is even mentioned is because being rednecks, they got to talking about that n*gger gettin’ into the white house and can you believe it and I bet that rifle could do some real damage and so on. Two white cops shined these guys on, and they fell for it. They’re stupid, not assasins.

A rifle sighted to 750 yards? Does anyone know how difficult it is to hit at even half that distance? I’ve been shooting since I was 10, and I hit within 300 yards almost all the time. Police snipers within 200 yards. Army snipers at under 500 yards. 750 is world class, and way beyond these yahoos.

At 600 yards, aiming a sixteenth of an inch to the right means missing the target by almost a yard. That’s how tough those shots are. But lots of people like to think they are super sniper and can hit out 750+, even when they can’t. My best bet is, he was shooting at that distance, but not hitting anything.

They had a plan in the same way I have a plan for when I win the lottery. This is pure speculation, pure fear mongering, and not a whit of fact. But hey, he is alleged to have connections to white supremacist groups! Eat it up, uncritical public. Eat it all up!

So...

Doctors aren’t human, I suppose? As soon as they take their boards they are no longer people with their own conscience, but merely instruments of whatever whims the government has this week?

Abortion is elective. While I do want doctors to have no choice in whether to save a drowning victim or not, I don’t want the government telling them they must act against their principals.

If 85% of doctors are against, that’s 15% for it. So those 15% are going to do a great business. And the docs that don’t want that business won’t be bothered by it. Win/win.

@anony

Basically what you are saying is that we should just admit that these girls should learn that they are only valued for their appearance?

These girls, maybe. If they are already big into beauty at that age, what do you think they are going to grow up to be? Lumberjacks?

I mean, why not teach them sexual techniques as well?

Because they aren’t necessary. They can get by on looks alone. Ugly girls need personality. Ugly girls need technique. Girls that are so into beauty and fashion they’d go to a camp about it at the age of ten, ain’t ugly. And they’re probably from a rich family to boot.

So we are talking about a group that is female, wealthy, young, and pretty. What else do you need to succeed in this world?

What's next? Camps for boys to teach them the skills of negging? How to score with the cheerleader and her friends?

They do, for men. But it actually makes more sense. Men have to be the pursuers. So they have to learn how to pursue. When it comes to dating boys are taught by their mothers to just be nice (useless), and by their fathers pretty much nothing (just as useless.)

I’d actually be in favor of a camp that teaches boys how to do better with women. Not that cheap Mystery crap, but actual seduction, sexiness, etc. Wouldn’t women welcome that as well?

I would hate to be a 10 year old today.

Amen to that. Remember “You can’t do that on television”? Remember the main character, Moose? She was a realistic girl. Not a celebrity. And a no Hannah Montana, by a mile.

Volt? Ugh

Please don't get excited about they Chevy Volt. It is vaporware. It is nothing more than Chevy trying to sound like they are actually doing something, without actually doing something.

Best guess is that the Volt won’t exist at all. If it does, it will be right around Prius specs, or a little worse. Which means that in two years, Chevy may introduce a vehicle that is not only no better than current technology, but actually a bit worse.

The only reason the Volt gets mentioned is because we are so starved for alternatives and there are so few out there. The Volt truly is the cream of the crap. In a field of F- students, it gets a D. And so we are “anxiously awaiting it”. Pathetic. Looks like the invisible hand is going to be pouring oil for a very long time.
