The practical premise of discussing 'domestic propaganda,' which is what Glenn is writing about, is that the Pentagon is treating the domestic population, the US population, the same way it treats targeted populations for info ops abroad. Now, we KNOW that info ops in war theaters include 'ideological warfare', and also that some activities traditionally more likely to be managed by CIA have been appropriated by the Pentagon. Rumsfeld created a whole division at the Pentagon, known among other things as P2OG, which was to appropriate certain types of tasks previously regarded as CIA responsibilities, including some false flag ops, which themselves had their explicit scope extended, to the point of performing fake terrorist strikes. So I think it's fair to assume that 'ideological warfare' against the domestic US population is part of the current Pentagon package, and hence, that some 'libertarians', theoretically, could be Pentagon agents of influence!
I got to admit though that Scott Horton is an excellent guy, I love his radio interviews. I can't imagine him being one of 'them'!

"The Coming of The Purple Better One"
The scene is Grant Park, Chicago, 1968. A full-scale model of the Mayflower, with American flags for sails, has been set up. A.J., in his Uncle Sam suit, steps to a mike on the deck :
“Ladies and gentlemen, it is my coveted privilege and deep honour to introduce to you the distinguished senator and former Justice of the Supreme Court, Homer Mandrill, known to his friends as The Purple Better One. No doubt you are familiar with a book called The African Genesis, written by Robert Ardrey, a native son of Chicago, and, I may add, a true son of America. I quote to you from his penetrating work : ‘When I was a boy in Chicago, I attended the Sunday School of our neighbouring church. I recall our Wednesday night meetings with simplest nostalgia. We would meet in the basement. There would be a short prayer and a shorter benediction, then we would turn out the lights, and, in total darkness, hit each other with chairs.’ Mr. Ardrey’s early training tempered his character, to face and make known the truth about the origins and nature of mankind : ‘Not in innocence and not in Asia was mankind born. The home of our fathers was the African Highland. The most significant of all our gifts was the legacy bequeathed us by our immediate forebears, a race of terrestrial flesh-eating killer apes.’
“Raymond A. Dart of the University Of Johannesburg was the strident voice from South Africa that would prove the southern ape to be the human ancestor. Dart put forward the simple thesis that man emerged from the anthropoid background for only one reason : ‘because he was a killer. A rock, a stick, a heavy bone, was to our ancestral killer ape the margin of survival.’ (And now we sat in his office at the wrong end of the world). ‘Man’s original nature imposes itself on any human solution. The aggressive nature of the southern ape, suh, glowing with menace, fought your battles on the perilous veldts of Africa, 500,000 years ago. Had he not done so, you would not be living here, in this great city, in this great land of America, raising your happy families in peace and prosperity.’
“Who more fitted to represent our Simian heritage in all its glory than Homer Mandrill, himself a descendent of that illustrious line? Who else can restore to this nation the spirit of true conservatism, that imposes itself on any human solution? And at a time when this great republic is threatened by enemies foreign and domestic? Actually, there can be only one candidate : The Purple Better One, your future President!”

it took me quite a while to find this and edit it down, so I feel OK about touting the link.
Electro Robot should bear in mind that for others there are "news values" to consider. The Marashes of this world are understandably, though not pardonably, more interested in their "careers". Robots, by definition, do not exercise initiative, so my suggestion is probably pointless. I mean, robotism is Electro Robot's professed ideal, to judge by his freely chosen handle.
What really irritates me is that, as long as I talk about my own feelings, and reassure them of how much I love them really (which I do), I can post away on the comments threads at Haaretz to my heart’s content, but the moment I try to undermine any of their terror propaganda, like today, by drawing their attention to the fact that the Lebanese crisis has been defused to the mortification of the USA and its puppets, they refuse to print the comment.
Though, actually, every newspaper, even the Independent, has its own little neocolonial hobbyhorse, which no-one is allowed to cast doubt upon.
I suppose I shouldn’t say things like this, if I want a job, but when world war looms, one stops worrying about feathering one’s own nest, or even about being thrown off Jobseeker’s Benefit.
The USA is notorious for its "work or starve" attitude.
after I sent them a really stinking email direct to the editorial desk, Haaretz finally printed my comment, to the effect that the Lebanese army, and the Lebanese public in general, perceive Hezbollah and its rockets as defensive, not offensive. It makes the rest of the thread look pretty silly, too - almost everything else on it is basically warmongering racist hate speech, saying that the only way to teach good sense to arabs is to carpet bomb them, more or less.
my remark about wanting a job was really more in the context of a thread at the one of the (London) Independent newspaper's blogs, where I also reported this episode.
