  • Rap music is white music

[Read the article: Black rappers made him do it!]

Aside from the "entrepenuers" such as Jay Z, Puffy, et al, the rap industry is headed by old white men. The heads of most, almost all, the major record companies who represent rap music are white. They do not care about the culture they are destroying, they only care about making money.

Rap is capable of GREAT things. I once heard someone say that rap is like an engine that could power the world, but it is currently being used as a door stop.

To condemn rap, and the rap artists, for anything is wrong. Condemn the people who really profit from it, and have the ability to change it.

That being said, I believe that using rap, in this case, as a scapegoat for Dom Imus' comments is wrong. I'm surprised they didn't use this reasoning to excuse Anne Coulter for calling John Edwards a faggot. After all they say that in rap as well.

  • Apt response

When you are a celebrity, everyone knows you. Of course, they don't actually know you, but something you do creates a connection with your fans. Whether you are an actor, musician, or even a politician, your fans feel a deep relationship.

Heath connected with a lot of people over his short career. He never made an ass of himself on public. He lived in a regular neighborhood. He made some really good films. These are the things that made him even more accessable to his fans. These are the things that make his passing that much harder to deal with.

It's true that he was just an actor and there are a lot of more important things in this world. Think of this. Heath was one of those people that could make all those other things disappear for a short while in his films. For that, he will be missed.

There are good movies available (La Vien en Rose, Letters from Iwo Jima to name a couple). More improtantly there are good TV shows available (Columbo, Heroes, This American Life). Seems like a fair deal for those that may not want to wait for their next film or maybe just wants to watch something again without all the hassle of wasting a spot in their que.

No idea of the quality, but you only need wirelss service for this to be a good deal.

  • Follow the money

Telecoms give a lot of cash to the Democratic party. They are to the Democrats what the oil companies are to Republicans. No mystery on why this happened. Follow the cash.
