G.O.'s Greatest Hits.

G.O. ON HISTORICAL TRUTH:

"All this blather about Rather.

I don't care what the frequency is, Kenneth, I want to know what the damned point is supposed to be.

Driving down the highway at 75 mph while looking in the rear view mirror with a pair of binoculars is pretty stupid. So is going back to the question of whether or not Bush fulfilled his military service commitments. Who the hell cares? It's over.

Look, even if suddenly some old retired TANG pilot went to his attic and opened his footlocker and discovered to his amazement that he had unknowingly kept all the flight records and physicals and daily logs, sick call, TDY, leave, and everything else right down to the last jot, and all this stuff proved conclusively that Bush was A.W.O.L., then what the hell would that mean today?

Not a damned thing."

ON THOSE PESKY GAYS, AND THEIR INCESSANT DEMANDS:

"When September rolls around next year, The Republicans are going to fill the airwaves with pictures of same sex couples french-kissing on the courthouse steps.

If you think the ill-conceived MoveOn dot Org "Betray-Us" ad was like winning the PowerBall lottery for the Republicans, just wait until they can find just one great "Willy Horton" moment to home in on.

And let's not forget those wonderful ladies at Code Pink who think that pissing off everybody is somehow going to change American voters' minds and go Democrat in 08.

I think I want to just sit down and cry sometimes.

Remember this: You can't change America until you get the power of the presidency and the White House. You can't get the White House, and therefore the power to change things, if all you want to do is alienate the middle American voter by giving the Republicans a cudgel to hit you over the head with.

The time is long past for gay rights in this country. That's true. And it's coming. But it will be a damned sight longer getting here if a Republican gets the White House in '09.

It's time to pick your fights, not pick fights."

ON THE CRAZIES AT MOVEON [of which Garry is a member, in the same way that Susan Estrich is a Democrat]:

And to MoveOn dot Org, I want you to know that it was your childish crap just like this Betray-Us ad that guaranteed I would never be a part of your organization. I'm a lefty, it's true. But your ad insulted a whole lot of people including me, who ever served in the military.

If I were running the RNC, I'd give MoveOn at least $500,000 to see what they could come up with next.

Keep it coming, MoveOn. You're almost there. Show everybody the "crazy old aunt in the closet" the Democrats have been hiding. She's the face of the screwballs and weirdos the Republicans want to etch into the minds of mainstream, main street, America right up to the election. Make the Democrats look like a bunch of nut case losers.

ON HYSTERICAL BITCHES:

As a man in America, you are well advised to not look at [children], refer to them, and/or God Forbid, ever touch one of them even if it would only be to save them from a speeding car. People are crazy with fear and accusation these days and it's best to just side-step the whole damned thing and get out of the way.

If a child alone gets on an elevator and I am alone on that elevator, I will get off the elevator before the door closes.

If I see a lost child searching desperately for her/his mom in a grocery store, department store, shopping mall, whatever, as much as it breaks my heart to do so, I'm not getting involved. I'm going to head the other way and hope for the best.

It seems like all men are monsters until proven innocent here in America. Even the most well-intentioned and human response is looked upon with suspicion. So count me out.

It's not even all that new a phenom. About 15 years ago I was on a transcontinental plane flight and an unaccompanied minor was placed in the seat next to me by the flight attendants.

Halfway through the flight, this boy starts crying because he's already missing his mom/or dad, and he obviously doesn't want to be on this airplane. I am a father. I am a husband. I am a decent man. I have compassion for kids.

So like a dummy, I start talking to this kid, asking him how come he's crying. I tried to be sympathetic and to see if I could get him thinking about TV, or sports or anything other than his loneliness and woes.

The goddamned asshole stewardess walked up to me and asked me what I was doing to the kid! This is the same stewardess that plunked the kid down and walked away and had not bothered to come check on him for more than an hour. I told her the kid was lonesome and was sad because he had to leave his mom/dad, grandma, whatever. She gave me the fish-eye like I was trying to do something awful with the kid. "Where you been for most of this flight? Don't you take any responsibility for a little kid traveling alone?" I asked her.

"You should just mind your own business," She told me. And so I did. I told the boy I thought he'd feel better when we landed then I got up and moved to a different seat, even though it was my favorite seat on the plane (Bulkhead Left window).

I also noticed that after this horse's ass of a stewardess left, she didn't come back and have any interaction with the boy at all. What a bitch!
