The previous poster referred to the use legal bc pills as a possible way to have a chemical abortion, but just remember that the ultimate goal of alot of the "antis" is to make many contreceptives illegal, such as the pill, IUD, because they are supposedly abortifacients.

the reason my husband and I got him was because of the shelter worker who suggested that we consider him. We were questioning her about another dog and she said "how about this guy?" Granted he was young, but apparently no one wanted him due to the fact that he was very energetic (part border collie) and so he had been languishing at the shelter for over a month. I've also learned since then that black dogs have a much lower chance of being adopted and he is mostly black, with some white markings on his face, paws and chest - so cute! For over the past 8 years he has been an amazing addition to our lives and we've made a point of thanking that shelter worker numerous times (in addition to making many donations to that shelter).

So while I agree that you don't want to be pressured into getting the animal that they are pushing, sometimes it can be the best thing ever.
