Plame scandal

Your article on the Plame scandal is very inciteful. I hope that Fizgerald will indict those who are guilty of bringing us to war on false info. We owe the soldiers in Iraq who are fighting and those soldiers who have lost their lives, all 2000 of them. This is treason sure and simple.

Original article: Making Colbert go away

Colbert

Just wanted to tell Joan Walsh that her article about the Colbert performance at the Correspondants dinner was right on the mark. Colbert made the press uncomfortable because he did what the press has refused to do , that is to report the truth. At last somebody told President Bush the truth.

Lone Star Lady

Just want to say thank you to Liz Smith for one of the most heartwarming and funny tributes I've ever read. I hope that her joy and wit will stay with all those who loved her and there are many who loved Ann Richards.

Gore and US attorneys being fired all the time

Joan, I agree with what you say about Gore. I also want to say that I think you're terrific on MSNBC. You are the reason I decided to renew Salon. you don't let the guys on the show run you over. I use to be a boys soccer coach with several first place teams and I took a lot of abuse from the male coaches. You hold your own and better sometimes. Your facts are right on the money.

Sincerely,

Connie Lipnick

Setting Democrats up for failure

Joan, You are right of course this is the new talking point on the right. Change what Waxman and Leahy are doing with hearings and oversight in their dreams. The ugly and painful truth will come out.

Salon's new letters registration policy

Joan, Thanks for Salons policy with letter writers. It helps to know that there are on line magazines who appreciate feedback to their columns. I'd also like to say that Salon is getting better everyday. Look forward to your appearances on MSNBC.

Tenet's medal

Tenet should be ashamed of himself, but instead he is arrogant and self righteous. He is a poor example of a Freedom Medal recipient. I still don't understand why he couldn't tell Bush at his daily briefings that it was a bad idea to go to war with Iraq. He has been interviewed several times in the last few days and when he is asked why didn't you tell the President not to go to war with Iraq, he says it wasn't his job to make policy. what a ridiculous statement when there are thousands of lives at stake. He should lose his CIA pension for malfeasance.

GOP debate

Joan, Thanks for your excellent reporting on the debate. I don't think there are many blogs with as much coverage and reporting as you are doing tonight. Thanks for being a lifeline to all of us suffering voters.

Do Dems now share blame with Bush?

I really think you are a bright and articulate commentator on MSNBC but I think your giving the Dems who voted yes for Bush's Iraq spending bill a pass. We need to fight tougher not give up to Bush and get the troops the hell outta of there.

Mike Allan

Mike Allan reminds me of a little boy who wants to be with the "in" group. He isn't handsome and he isn't especially a good interviewee because he jumps in his seat and pants when he talks looking and acting like a puppy dog. I hope he decides to be a real reporter when the Democrats come to town and they become the "in" crowd. Basicly he should study what a good reporter does and then maybe he will learn how to be a real reporter.

Giuliani goes soft on Libby

Just a note to say that your response to Bush's act of giving Libby the Summer off from prison is more than a little adult. I hope that American voters remember what Republicans like Giuliani said about the Libby commuted sentence. I remember when juries in the O J Simpson case let him off in a not guilty verdict. People were outraged because we all knew who killed Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. Now with Bush letting Libby off we get the same kind of justice, but this time the president of the United States gladly does the dirty work. Libby was responsible for helping Cheney and Bush lie us into war. Republican can say all they want that he did nothing wrong but according to the Federal Prosecuter he obstructed the investigation by lying to the FBI and the jury to prevent us from knowing who outed a CIA covert Agent and punished a former Diplomat about why we went to war. I hope that they learn someday and apologize to the families who have lost their loved ones for an unnecessary war.

Original article: Looking back at Lady Bird

Lady Bird

Just wanted to say that I thought Dana Cook's article on Lady Bird Johnson was a fitting tribute to the former First lady of our land. Despite all the pain and suffering that the country was going thru at the time, Lady Bird tried to bring some civility to our country.

Bush's incompetence

You have successfully scared me but I don't know how you can scare the rest of the public(Bush was good at that). If we could get the major networks to cover articles like yours in more places than just Salon, progressives links and your very informative daily web site, the public might listen to you. Keith Olbermann on MSNBC seems to be the only show that tells it like it is and Keith is constantly being accused of propaganda for the left. MSNBC has to have right wing shows like Tucker, Scarborough, to balance conservatives 2/1. Michael Moore of SICKO is accused of being outright crazy and the media agrees with that characterization, and yet his documentaries actually agree with the majority of the public in polls. The right on radio and Fox news just says he's a crazy liberal and that seems to be all they have to do to malign him.
