Thanks King...

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Now everytime they take either of Detroit's Wallaces because of that 4th foul, I think "Why?" Then you see the 6th "foul" they called on Sheed, and you think "Oh, That's why!".
I thought the definition of a foul (this is from my 4th grade days of B-Ball 101) was "creates an unfair advantage'? By this definition the last foul on Sheed, a slight forearm to Shaq's back that he probably didn't even feel, let alone prevent him from making any move he was making at the time. So, again, where's the foul?
Can I just take this time to say how much I am anticipating Hubie Brown's retirement? The man contradicts himself from quarter to quarter on a per game basis... and the Shaq fawning: "All those hits to his arms over the course of a game have got to hurt..." Give me a break, man. Not only are his arms bigger than my waist, he also gets paid around $50,000 per arm hack. Cry me a friggin' river.
This, after we had just been treated to a Shaq interview where he informed us that this is the year he feels like winning, so that's why he's so unstoppable.
Funny thing about that interview: he was talking about when his father-in-law talks about greats like Russel and Walton and his father's "eyes get big". First, he admits that he's not listening to what his father's actually saying, so in reality he has no idea why his father's eyes get big when talking about the greats. It might have been their sportsmanship. Shaq'll never know because his ego is too big to actually listen to what his dad says. So Shaq goes on to say that's why he wants a 4th championship, that and "I'm selfish". Noooo? Really?
I know that the Heat will be heavily favored going into the finals, regardless of who they play, but consider this: With a team made up of mostly egos (Gary Payton, Alonzo Mourning, Antionne Walker) and players that are known for choking when it counts (Jason Williams, Walker), are the Heat going to get enough production out of Flash and Shaq to take this? Wade can't keep hitting shots like he's been doing? Right?
Or should I just resign myself to a Miami/Shaq championship this year and hope this prompts a trifecta of ego retirements - Shaq/Payton/Mourning?

Back to Eunuchville!
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Is it just me or was the Miami promo department a bit off when they decided that "team spirit" meant "Everyone wears White!" It looks like a cult meeting at American Airlines Arena - I keep expecting the mothership to land and take all the good little cult members up to Xenon for their eternal reward. The "White Shirts" (also the whitest crowd I've ever seen in Miami) practically watch the game with their hands folded in their lap. Kind of coincidental that Shaq moved from L.A. - home of fan indifference - to someplace where the fans actually seem less enthused... But at least they all show up on time!
Side note: To the letter poster 2 days ago when said that Ben Wallace was overrated and a liability to his team I say: Nya, nya!!! Who's a liability now, Shaq-fan?!?!?
Punctuated by the "Big Shazam" himself in postgame interviews where he said something to the effect of "That was a foul. No more stupid questions." as the mini-recorder wielding classes tittered nervously as most 5'5" people tend to do around 7'2" assholes...

Damnit people...
[Read the article: Much ado about nothing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Why does the Sopranos have to end in a blaze of glory? The last 2 seasons were as violent as it had ever been. Maybe we were spoiled with the double-death finale of last season (Adriana and Tony B.) but when you think about it, the Sopranos averages about 1 major death per season.
Maybe this is the way Chase (and his cabal of writers, Lord knows he hasn't written any actual dialogue in years) is going to trump expectations: not actually killing any main characters. The Sopranos, from the beginning, was always about being a different type of mob story. If you want something without irony, meaning, and lots of blood, rent "Casino". By the end of the first hour you'll be screaming for 5 minutes of Sopranos dialogue!
And, people, please. Can we stop comparing the Sopranos to "Six Feet Under"? How did that show end? They killed off the only decent character weeks earlier (with the much appreciated "Narm!") and everyone walked off into the sunset: complete with little "where are they now" blurbs circa "Animal House". Yeah, pure fuggin' genius... if you liked the end of "Happy Days". I've never quite understood anyone's obsession with SFU anyway. Talk about a show that went downhill after the first season... I mean did you people really care whether Brenda and Nate would get back together (sound like an episode of 90210)? I just wanted every last one of those depressing people to die in a gruesome death like they always did to the people and the beginning of the show.
And don't even get me started on "Sex in the City"!
Long story short: don't try to explain, disect, or predict where the Sopranos is going. It's not the destination, peeps: its the journey...
