OK, I just read this part again...

...and this is getting real weird...

"During this time Mitchell and a male associate left the club with a garbage bag filled with $81,020 of Jones' money and two Breitling watches, which Police later recovered."

OK, so apparently Jones is the only person in the world who thinks he can give money to strippers (that's what you're doing when you put the money on the stage, Pacman - did you think they're dancing sans clothing for free?) and then take it back? And why is he carrying around two expensive watches? Isn't that something you leave in the car? Or was he lookin' for "something special" in the VIP room?

I don't think these (unintentional) omissions make Pacman look better.

BTW, I just checked, and wikipedia did just put up that new info. Maybe it's Thrasher trying to put a thread of doubt into it. Cause if you're black and famous, you must be innocent and being needlessly harrassed by the police. Nelly is named Cornelius? No wonder he calls himself Nelly? Was it that or Corny?

Typical thrasher...

From Jones' Wikipedia entry:

"On February 16-18, 2007, during the 2007 NBA All-Star Game weekend in Las Vegas, Jones is alleged to have been involved in an altercation with an exotic dancer at a local strip club. According to the club's co-owner, Jones approached the stage with a garbage bag filled with approximately $81,000 in one-dollar bills. Jones proceeded to throw the money into the air over the exotic dancers for a dramatic effect, an act known as "making it rain". Becoming enraged when one of the dancers began taking the money without his permission, Jones grabbed her by her hair and slammed her head on the stage. A security guard intervened and scuffled with members of Jones' entourage of half a dozen people, during which time Jones allegedly bit the guard on the lower leg. Jones then allegedly threatened the guard's life. After the patrons of the club exited, the club owner says a person in Jones' entourage returned with a gun and fired into a crowd, hitting three people, including the security guard involved in the earlier skirmish. Although the guard was shot twice, one of the people hit, former professional wrestler Tommy Urbanski, was paralyzed from the waist down. Jones maintains that he did not know the shooter, although the club's owner insists that Jones did. On March 26, 2007 the Las Vegas Police recommended to the city's district attorney that Jones be charged with one count of felony coercion and also a misdemeanor count of battery and a misdemeanor count of threat to life."

Just the man trying to get him down, eh Thrasher? He's been arrested 5 times: I think even I would have been fired from my job after the 5th arrest. But, no, "Pacman" is still employed. And, apparently, employing people who will kill you if you dare stop them from beating up strippers. You might wanna peddle you're "the man's gettin' me down" line on someone besides Jones. Or did the Jew Sportswriter make Jones have his entourage shoot at cars for him?

BTW, have you ever heard of punctuation?

Entourage took up 2 cars?

I've never really understood the purpose of an entourage. Seems like all you need is 3 guys: 1 for security, 1 to buy the drugs, and 1 to provide the urine sample. OK, maybe 2 for security. I mean, how many "yes" men do you really need? I'm sure plenty of fawning can be "outsourced" to the waitstaff of whatever venue you happen to be in.

But if your entourage can't fit into 1 Escalade, how much of a service are the guys in the 2nd SUV (the one you're not in) really providing? Other than shooting at passing cars?

Second question: How's a guy who's not getting paid for a year afford 2 SUV's worth of an entourage?

Two things that are diametrically opposed to each other...

Solid basketball skills (good ball-handling, solid jump-shooting, moving your feet on defense, etc.) and up-tempo, high scoring (lots of dunks, one pass per possesion, fast breaks).

There will always someone who will complain about one of these in reference to the NBA finals (and playoffs in general). They usually aren't NBA fans and haven't watched a game in its entirety for seasons at a time, so I'm at a loss as to why the game should be tailored to fit their concerns (obviously, King is an exception). I'm cursed in that I love basketball as a game but my team (Celtics) haven't done crap for decades. So I watch anyway despite having no skin in the game.

Basically, the NBA is damned if they do and damned if they don't. Count me in with the previous poster who thinks that high-scoring games can be just as boring as low-scoring, defensive battles.

Then again, I've found almost every SuperBowl in the last 8 years that didn't feature the Pats pretty darn boring, too (the Rams/Titans affair being a lone standout in my memory). Eye of the beholder, and all.

Good theory gavini...

But why would Chase, who has gone out of his way to not be cliché, give us the most cliché of endings: the dream sequence. I mean, really? Friggin' "Newhart" used it.

I can appreciate your weather observations but anyone who's encountered a New England autumn can tell you from day-to-day (especially in late Sept. to early Oct.) it can be sunning-yourself weather one day and snowing the next. That's not a dream sequence, that's just the weather...
