It's the physicality, stupid..
[Read the article: Radiohead's Thom Yorke says people still need CDs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I, like most people, want to feel like I'm getting something for the money I spend. Something tangible, that I can feel and smell (I love the smell of a freshly opened CD insert, yeah it's stupid), not just hear.
DRM makes the choice even easier. CDs I bought in 1987 still sound exactly as they did on the purchasing date, and I never have to verify a password or worry about backing up the MP3s. At 92+ GBs, backing up would be quite expensive anyway.
Also, my CD collection is insurable. Try convincing an insurance company to reimburse you for all your MP3s after a fire; they'll only give you enough money to replace the computer hardware, not the hundreds (in my case, thousands) of dollars to replace your digital music "collection".

Obama hasn't spoken yet

Particulars
[Read the article: Elizabeth Edwards claims second for her husband; Clinton says it's a good night for Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]** Obama beats Clinton among women and men - So much for the yeah-hillary-sisterhood-of-pants
** Late deciders throw support to Obama, Edwards - ABC vote!
** 41% of Obama's caucus goers were new - the young people wake up and realize at the status quo they end up with no jobs, healthcare, or liveable environment!!!
** 51% of change voters chose Obama - The only one of the top three that hasn't been involved in presidential politics until now: yeah logic!!
** Edwards third among union voters - doesn't bode well for someone who had the official endorsements

Also not boding well.. for the dark side..

RE: is watching Green Bay and New England better than mowing the lawn?
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]First, where the hell do you live that you can mow the lawn in late January? That might explain YOUR non-interest in a Pack/Pats Superbowl, don't you think?
Second, its the storylines, stupid. I don't care what anyone says, if Favre wins it all, he's retiring. And Favre's last Superbowl win came against whom? The Pats. Add to that the possibility of witnessing the only 19-0 perfect season, I'm pretty sure that's the matchup the networks are hoping for. Or do you think Giants/Go Diego Go will entice anyone out of the greater NY/San Diego area to give 2 poops? I mean, c'mon, half of NY doesn't even like the Giants...
Lastly, Lynx, seriously dude. Give it up. It's dumb, ridiculous, and honestly, a bit womanly, to hang on this long to the cheaters meme. They've been punished. It's over. Videotaping signs for one quarter of a crap team does not help one go 17-0. It just doesn't. YOU are the one who should seek professional help, not Wes. Seriously...

@Lynx
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sure, if that's all they did.
I'm sure a smart girl like you would know that you can't prove a negative. First you insinuate that other cheating occurred without any evidence to prove it.
Then you insinuate that because the NFL (not the pats, BTW) didn't broadcast the tape on ESPN there must be some conspiracy to bolster the cause of JUST ONE TEAM at a time in the season when every team was either 1-0 or 0-1. Or does the NFL own a time machine that told them the Pats would be going for the record? The leap of faith you're requiring from the average fan on that one is astounding.
Last, you extrapolate that since the Pats were caught in this one action, they must be cheating in dozens of other ways that we haven't caught yet. It's like saying that every team Lawrence Taylor ever played on was as coked up as he was, by proximity. It's another logical fallacy and otherwise quite un-American. Innocent until proven guilty is the credo by which are law system is based. And you're starting to run out of tinfoil.
I'm hardly the only one that feels that way
Then you, and all the others who "feel" this way should get some EVIDENCE or kindly STFU. There are an equal amount of others who "feel" the opposite way: that history could be made in the next few weeks and aren't we all lucky to be witness to it. And I'm sure that not all of them are Pats fans - a few have expressed similar opinions on this very message board.
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
I could be an ass and ask YOU to tell me what it means, since you're so good at extrapolation, but I won't. Let's just say that the only living things with better memories than an elephant are slighted human females. And you're season-long ranting reminds me of that - correct if me if I'm wrong, but you do feel wronged, as a fan and a human being, about the whole thing don't you? Me? I've become best friends with people who have hit me square in the gut. Maybe its because I'm forgiving. Maybe its because I'm not an absolutist. Maybe you should try either, because in the long run, what's it really matter?
Sure, I'll go out and seek help to cure me of this "ethics" think I seem to be suffering from.
Which brings us around to the stupidest argument that the Pats haters harbor. Let's ignore the fact that we're talking about entertainment AND a game. Do you expect me to believe that of all the ethical "violations" in the NFL, from the drug use, to the spousal abuse, to the fact that the sport takes young men and abuses their bodies to the point of chronic system failure (and then unceremoniously drops them like they were last week's Britney song) FOR OUR ENTERTAINMENT, this Pats thing, THIS is the thing you've decided to make you're soapbox? All I can say is that its a good thing you're on one, cause ethically speaking, you're still many feet under sea level, dude.
