I have to agree with other posters...
[Read the article: Attackers aim at Apple with first Mac Trojan horse]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm as likely to install a "free porn player", completely unsolicited, on my Mac as I am to send that dude from Africa who keeps e-mailing me my bank account number: 0%
I would expect that the only users who would fall for this would be the senior set, to whom the Mac is sold to as the computer for the technologically un-savvy but who also don't usually download alot of porn. Maybe if it was approached as a way to get cheap drug prescriptions...

You lost me at "("Casualties of War" is) possibly the greatest film of the '80s"
[Read the article: "Redacted"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Really? The Greatest?
Better than Stand By Me, Ghandi, Dead Poets' Society, Breakfast Club, River's Edge (now there's a rape!), Platoon, Das Boot, Chariots of Fire, Blade Runner, King of Comedy, The Meaning of Life, Sophie's Choice, Rumble Fish, Blood Simple, Brazil, Amadeus, To Live and Die in L.A., Blue Velvet, Prizzi's Honor, Witness, A Room with a View, The Untouchables, The Name of the Rose, Tampopo, Full Metal Jacket (Kubrick did Vietnam so much better than anyone), The Last Emperor, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Wall Street, Rain Man, Mississippi Burning, Sex Lies and Videotape, Miller's Crossing, Driving Miss Daisy, Born on the Fourth of July, Dances with Wolves, Wild at Heart, Edward Scissorhands, Jacob's Ladder, Goodfellas...
I could go on, but what would be the point. I guess that I should get used to the critical re-evaluation thing and look forward to 2027 when the forgotten genius that was "Fred Clause" is breathlessly proclaimed "possibly the best movie of the '00s".

How much to do a "motorboat"?
[Read the article: The Hooters of haircutting]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Kidding!
"Regardless of my objections, I'm sure that Knockouts will enjoy the same clientele as Hooters..."
Have you ever seen the clientele at a Hooters? Any day but Sunday & Saturdays in fall (blessed football days) Hooters are filled with 3 kid families and couples. I don't know why, but there it is..
Having hotties cut your hair is fine as long as you're not an embarrassingly balding guy in his late 30s, like me. Haircuts for me are an all-business affair that shouldn't last more that 15-20 minutes and is best done by a guy who's older and has less hair than me. In a few years I'll be doing it myself with an electric trimmer...

I laughed out loud last night...
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...when I read that the Ravens were blaming the zebras for the loss. Obviously I'm biased, but the refs all but swallowed their whistles when it came to pass interference last night. The only calls that went the Pats way were when it was so obvious (grabbing and throwing Moss down at the line of scrimmage, Watson being bludgeoned by 2 Ravens in the endzone WAAAAAY before the ball got to him) as to be an embarrassment for the officials to ignore. Welker was held on practically every play.
That, plus the jinx that is Don Shula, I'm surprised the Pats were able to pull it out. The timeout is a non-starter as far as I'm concerned. Dodgy TV sound being what it is, its hard to tell when the Pats or Ravens players heard the whistle to make a accurate judgment.
All I know is that if the Ravens played the entire season as passionately as they did last night (and started Boller all season), they'd probably still be in the playoff hunt. This Patriots fan is secretly hoping the streak ends so that the HUGE target is gone and we can just get to the playoffs without being pounded to a bloody pulp. Tony K. mentioned that the Ravens were considering this game their SuperBowl and that whoever beats the Pats first will remember it forever. Yeah, I'm sure that Dan Marino warms his ringless fingers on cold days with the knowledge that he hung the lone loss on the Bears in '85. Sometimes Kornheiser is an idiot (notice how he was outwardly and dubiously pulling for the Ravens all night until the equally dubious "inevitability" of the Pats last drive - Wilbon's looking like the better and better choice every new Monday).
Has anyone noticed that the Sean Taylor motivational ploy is 0-2 so far this week? Maybe its time for a better impetus...

Wes is OK in my book..
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As a regular poster and a Salon subscriber (since the inception of the subscription thingy), who has been writing to King even before Salon instituted the post board, Wes is OK in my book. Once you get used to him, Wes is a crack-up. I look forward to his ubiquitous posts, a few of which contain nuggets of wisdom, especially during the most contentious subjects.
I'd much rather read his stream-of-consciousness multi-posts than one more post about how great Ohio State is or how Bill Belichick/Barry Bonds needs to be drawn and quartered in order to preserve the (bogus) sanctity of their respective leagues (those posters know who they are, I won't call them out by name).
To call out Wes as an annoyance or without merit is to confuse everything that King is about and the community that this board has become in the last few years. And if you've been paying any attention at all in that time, Wes cannot (and should not) be driven away!
Unrelated item: So Steeler sophomore Anthony Smith has guaranteed a Pats loss this weekend:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3142456
Rodney Harrison, who's been around the block a few times, when asked about the guarantee, said "Never heard of him". Smith also referred to Wes Walker as "Walker".
I'm making no predictions, but if the Steelers do win, it won't be the Steelers team that played the Jets a few weeks back (and I'm willing to give them a pass on the Miami game)!

And now I just referred to WES WELKER as Walker...
