Thank god the Imus thing is over...
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It was a bit of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" on Friday, King. It was scary. I ran away, crying to myself, wishing for a snide, one-liner from Wes.
You were a trooper, however: engaging fanatical idiots til the wee hours (your last post was after midnight, I recall) and ignoring the assholes, for the most part. Who was that dude who was constantly calling out the Jews and daring to call others racist? - that shit was surreal, man.
Glad we're back to normal...

Imus called Bush a "War Criminal"
[Read the article: Is Rush Limbaugh next?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And in the modern Neo-Con mind, that's not reality: that's being a raving liberal moonbat.
Nevermind that Imus was an "early adopter" of the Iraq War in the first few years. So I guess, on that one issue, he's as liberal as Hillary...

Ahh, that's right, it was Thrasher...
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yes, let's look at exactly what you said, shall we?
I need you to elevate your game King take your angst and go after the your white peers and your white jewish sportswriters and professionals who play the at the expense of Black people across the spectrum. I need you King to write some commentary about jewish sports agents, jewish college professors and magazine writers the whole lot who create phony wedges between the parents of Black student athletes and HBCU (Black Colleges) and Black folks at large.. I need you to ask the tough questions about white jewish racism leveled against so many Blacks in the arena that your write in..
Emphasis mine.
So that's not racist, huh? What if I said to you, Thrasher:
It's time for you to elevate your game and go after your black peers and black Salon readers who play the black race card at the expense of white people across the spectrum. I need you, Thrasher, to write some commentary about welfare recipients, welfare queens, and Negro College Fund recipients who create a phony issues to proliferate more affirmative action programs on the back of the white man.
See how I take an issue of the African Community and put it all on your back? Don't you find that a bit hyperbolic and alot racist? Do you pretend to speak for all African Americans? Do you think that all King has to do is pick up the "Jew Phone" and let them all know what's what? And what, specifically, are you referring to with your "phony wedge issues" and "white jewish racism leveled against.. Blacks"? Do you an actual case you can link or cite? Or is this just your "sense" of it all?
Whatever. Throughout the entire thread on Friday you baited and switched and gave absolutely no indication of taking anyone else's viewpoint to heart. It's all about you, isn't it Thrasher. Which is why I didn't comment on Friday and most regular posters stayed away. I wish you'd stay away.
I won't be responding to anything you have to say, ever again, unless I see a change in your attitude. Like you care. You'll just find someone else to bait. Your kind always does. And by "your kind" I mean "racist assholes".

Hey Wes...
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Could you possibly consolidate a few of those 3 - 5 posts in a span of 10 minutes into one? I know you're posting in a stream-of-consciousness way and I appreciate the thoughts, but couldn't you just pause 10 minutes before hitting "Publish", just to make sure all the thoughts are out? It would cut down on reading time. Just a suggestion...
Also, kudos to the side-bar discussion about soccer. We soccer-haters have no idea what you're talking about but its a better ploy than the old "Why isn't King talking about (insert sport here)?" meme that is the usual posting by soccer, hockey and hai-lai fans alike. Good for you!

Heat, indeed...
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What? You mean that Alonzo Mourning, Gary Payton and Ationne Walker don't have that same fire that they had last year? The me-first attitude of these dinosaurs temporarily being put aside so that they could tell Barkley to stuff it 'cause "Where's your ring?"
Riley, genius that he thinks he is (way to take over VanGundy's team just in time to get your 4th ring, asshole), should have seen this coming before the last piece of confetti had hit the floor after the Heat's victory last June. If he really was the genius he thinks he is, he would have fired those 3 and traded the lamentable Jason Williams for a high 1st round pick, gotten a real point guard in the draft and hire 3 more talented-when-they-feel-like-it, desperate-for-a-ring veterans who would sublimate their messianic urges for a chance to ride the Wade/Shaq moster to the promised land. Repeat and rinse!
"Obviously Arod's not going to keep doing what he's doing"... What would that be? Grounding out with runners on base and a chance to put his team ahead in the 9th? Or hitting yet another RBI when the score is 12-5, Yanks. OBP and Slugging% by themselves will never equal wins. And you can't complain about the pitching staff. Steinbrenner has known since the Randy Johnson departure that his staff was going to be thin from the get go, and its not likely to get better when they have to throw Petite in on his off-days to prevent a team from scoring in a late inning. So, yea, I'm going to gloat now while the gloating's good. Good news for you is that I'm sure the Yanks will buy some talent off of a out-of-it-by-July team by the trade deadline and will still get the division. Must be nice...

"The ARod hate is beyond irrational."
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So's the ARod love...

"All numbers and no context."
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Definitely. Which is the point I was trying to make about ARod.
800 homeruns would be impressive. Chaulk me up as another who would absolutely no problem with ARod holding that record. He's light years ahead of the guy who's about to break the record in class, humanity, and legality. A Yankee held the record before. I have no problem with another one holding it again; possibly for as long as the sport continues.
Let's think about that, though. 800+ homeruns? I also heard this stat being bandied about on the Red Sox/Yanks broadcast. But That's a lot of unhatched chickens the commentariat is counting. Especially given that ARod has remained (as many have pointed out) injury-free during the first part of his careeer, half of that when he was the brightest star on two average to horrible teams (OK, the 2000 Mariners were good) and in his physical prime. And they're figuring he plays until he's 40, averaging 40+ HRs a year? That's alot of what ifs.
And to be perfectly honest, I don't hate ARod, I just hate the team he plays on. Let him go somewhere else and get his ring. That is, if he can do it by himself. He's got the best talent money can buy surrounding him now and it hasn't happened...

Tomreedtoon...
[Read the article: Finale wrap-up: "30 Rock"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Get over yourself. HH is the best TV commentator writing today, bar none.
P.S. I'm sorry your mommy/daddy called you names. Once again, get over yourself...
