@Lynx

Glad to see your badgering other Salonistas about their Mac usage months after Farhad's departure to Slate! Keep up the work (I'd say "good work" but it can't really be "good" if microsoft is involved).

Anyway you said:

Sure, that's how Microsoft gained market dominance in 90% of its products, it made things that suck.

And then you insulted him.

Not to get into the inevitable Mac vs. PC argument but you know why Microsoft has 90% market dominance:

1. Licensing (esp. to crap hardware makers like Dell)

2. Illegally (according to the Justice Dept.) marrying their non-operating-system software to the operating system

3. Ensuring that their products broke just often enough to necessitate a full-time IT staff who (surprise!!) kept recommending their companies buy more PCs (OK, this is more of a conspiracy theory of mine, but I think it holds up)

Windows is still just a shell over a DOS system. Still!!!! And they still crash constantly when running anything but the most basic software apps. Hell, my Mac when running Windows is stabler than any Dell on this planet!!

Macs hardware and software work better together because they were made to run with each other.

One last point: if you're going to be so anti-Mac/pro-PC, why do you insist on confusing me with the handle "Lynx"? Too close to Linux for me...

Banking and the Stock Market are too important..

...to be left to the likes of bankers and traders.

I know a lot of day traders. They brag that they've been gleefully gaming the system since the mid-90s, most with no education beyond a simple BA, laughing at us 9-5ers for our insistence on real, skills-based work.

Their ability (and need) to turn a profit has now officially overridden any accountability to their countries or the world. It's time this was stopped, before they ruin us all in a desperate attempt to finish "ahead" each day...

Correction Tea Party..

You must be a Cubs fan. "Hey Hey Goodbye" is sung when a visiting pitcher is lifted for a reliever. "He Gone!" is the strike out saying...

Carry on...

Have you seen Hillary Duff lately?

Grrrrr-owl!

Original article: I Like to Watch

People! PEOPLE!!!!

Can't we all just agree that American Idol needs to be killed?!?!?! I'd pay money to watch Simon Cowell eviscerated like William Wallace on national TV!

FOX has been living off of AI and Simpsons (and the torture porn of 24, to an extent) for far too long. Time to scrap it all and start over again, Murdoch...

How many Iraq war "no-bid" contracts went to Bush donators?

I'm guessing all of them...

RE: Not seating Burris, legislative question

What effect, if any, is there to the Senate's legislative ability since it looks entirely possible that we will have only 98 senators (the Franken win will still be in litigation, I assume) on Jan. 6th?

More specifically, what effect will this have on the Senate's ability to pass a stimulus package, hopefully effective Jan. 20?

This is not a time to fuck around people - we've been essentially without a government (especially in the Executive branch) for practically a year now! We need to get this shit movin'!!!

Original article: 8-year-old denied divorce

If I were a woman..

...I'd get over there as soon as possible and start bashin' heads. Unless your "outrage" at this is as strong as your outrage at how Starbucks got your order wrong this morning...

I don't feel sorry for the 8-year-old. As many have pointed out, he might be dead in 10 years. I feel sorry for his other wives, of whom a few might be approaching 18..

Original article: The economic Civil War

Say what you will about the "proud" south...

...they CAN be bought!

I'd bet that if the price were right, they'd let Al Qaeda set up shop. AQ only attacks blue states anyway!!

..for the GOP whiners...

RE: Obama's Whitewater?

Since there's no longer an Office of Special Counsel, someone's going to have to pay for it themselves and it won't automatically have the (implied) gravitas that comes from being a governmental department.

So I'd say, "No"..

Run, Tweety, Run!!!

Things have changed a bit since you were TipO's right hand guy...

Stinks...

I'll take a competent liar over an incompetent liar any day...

P.S. No word on the fact that ANY piece of paper, printed on ANY type of machine can be a legitimate BC if signed and stamped by the right official. Inconvenient truth, stinks?
