In today's episode we find Detective Al B. Craven hitting the pavement searching for leads in the mysterious Anthrax Killer case. Det. A.B.Craven had a prime suspect, professional wrestler and movie star, I. Rock who was staying at a seedy Hollywood motel. Craven began knocking on Rock's neighbors' doors. The first neighboor waved him in and said in hushed tones, "I know who did it! It was Rock. I saw him do it." Craven then moved on to the next apartment whose occupant pulled him aside and whispered, "Shhhh. I don't wanna get involved but I know for sure it was I. Rock." Craven's years of experience told him there was a pattern emerging. As he aproached the next door, a shadowy figure emerged from down the hall beckoning to Craven to come talk. "I know who did it. It was I. Rock. He told me himself!" But Craven was street smart. He knew that even 3 sources wasn't enough so he kept knocking on Rock's neighbors' doors. At the far end of the hall he stumbled upon yet another lead -- another neighbor who had important information. This neighbor told Craven, "You didn't hear it from me, but it was Rock!".
At this point, Craven was sure he had cracked the case. He went back downtown and met with his surly boss S. Pathetic Merkin. "So what do you got Craven?", Merkin spat out. Well, boss, I got 4 well placed sources who all finger I. Rock. It has to be him. "Book him" was all she said.
Craven was half way there when Merkin called him on the squawk box, "Craven, get your ass back here. Rock's lawyer just brought in evidence giving I. Rock an air tight alibi. He was wrestling on national tv when the murder happened. It couldn't have been him. Get your ass back here and tell me about those sources of yours."
Craven raced back to HQ and ran up to Merkin's office. "Gosh, boss! I don't know what to make of it. Four well-placed sources all making the same mistake! What are the odds? Do you think they were in on it together? Maybe trying to frame Rock?" Merkin glared at him, "Hey Craven, there's some tinfoil in the break room. Why don't you make yourself a hat, moonbat! Detective Carney who happened to be in Merkin's office at the same time exclaimed, "What are you Craven? Some kind of conspiracy nut? Why don't you check the grassy knoll, yuk, yuk, yuk!" Merkin said, "Well I guess we'll never solve this case. We have no leads. No suspects. No angle."
Then Merkin turned to Craven and said, "Drop that Anthrax case, Craven. There's a missing white girl somewhere. Get on it, stat!"
And thus concludes, the case of the mysterious Anthrax Killer.
I saw O'Donnell's performance live and it was astounding. After 6 years of the most mendacious administration in American history, she has the gall to demand that Leahy bend over for Karl Rove. There many many books that have been written documenting in detail the innumerable lies of the Bush Administration, yet still Norah O'Donnell gives the White House the benefit of the doubt. Its doubly dumbfounding when what they are asking for in this instance obviously can have no other than motivation than to make it easier to lie.
O'Donnell's credulousness is so impossible to justify that it is hard not to conclude that she has lost her objectivity and is, if not on the payroll, at least in the pocket of the Bush Administration.
Norah, you are an absolute disgrace to your profession and your country. You should resign and apologize.
P.S. Senator Leahy: O'Donnell's a disgrace but you need to communicate much more effectively than you did in that interview. You let her push you around and that is ridiculous. You should have knocked that bullshit out of the park. Next time make sure your staff prepares talking points for you so when one of these Republican 'Journalists" lobs a fat one over the plate, you nail it.
It is unwise and immoral to continue the Iraq charade. It's far past time to admit that the whole thing was a fraud from the get go, conceived and incompetently executed by the Maybery Machiavellis. Continuing to pursue this fraud based upon lies is nothing short of delusional.
The Mayberry Machiavellis have framed the entire question in what is clearly an unfalsifiable manner. No matter what happens, they can continue to claim to see light at the end of the tunnel. Scientists know that unfalsifiable claims are empty.
That light you see? It's a train, boys. Get off the tracks.
The problem is the "No Liberals On TV" rule. Few reporters face any kind of accountability on their work. Pundits pontificate but the only time they may be held accountable is when they appear on mass media talk shows either on radio or cable or network tv. But there are almost no strong liberals in any of those fora -- and the few there are, like Olbermann and Cafferty, haven't been there long.
Its bloggers like Glenn Greenwald who are changing the dynamic and, at least in some way, forcing the media to back up what they say.
Another great post, as usual, Glenn. Thank you.
Shooter, you enthusiastic little scumbag propagandist you, the reason you do an oversample of say, black voters, is so you have a larger sample size of that subgroup and therefore a lower margin of error when you say how the oversampled subgroup responded in the poll. BUT when overall numbers are reported, the oversample is weighted back down to its proper proportions. No juice.
Dude, being a liar is disgraceful. You should be ashamed of yourself.
You know, Glenn, I hate to say it but Shooter242 ought to be banned from this web site. He's a straight up liar and manages to hijack many threads. Find out his IP and ban his sorry ass.
