I agree with Glenn's macro analysis and I agree that Hillary doesn't make the cut, although I think its not just her advisers, its the fact that she utterly failed to show any leadership at all on the systemic issue during the dark days of the last 6 years.
I also have to disagree about Obama. I think he is highly overrated and the following quote is illustrative of why, "If President Bush vetoes an Iraq war spending bill as promised, Congress quickly will provide the money without the withdrawal timeline the White House objects to because no lawmaker "wants to play chicken with our troops," Sen. Barack Obama said Sunday." This statement swallows the absurd Republican spin, hook, line, and sinker.
Beware those who insist on being civil to their tormenters no matter how extreme and over the line their tormenters become.
The best thing that cold happen would be for Al Gore to get in the race and choose Wes Clark as his running mate.
This is what happens when there is widespread anti-democratic corruption throughout the political system and the Democrats fail to operate as an opposition party. These kind of beliefs start out as only half-serious talking points and rationalizations. Eventually idiots like Giuliani take them seriously, although with little if any analysis.
And that's the way the democratic cookie crumbles...
True story: I recently ran into a guy who grew up in Rich Lowry's neighborhood when they were little kids. He said the only thing he could remember about him was that Lowry always cried whenever they played football.
Rich Lowry: right wing authoritarian pussy
Re Glenn's post: The media whores learned nothing from their Iraq war failures. They are arrogant stenographers for the powerful.
Another bullseye for Glenn. The level of dishonesty in our nation's political discourse has reached new depths that are shockingly Orwellian and profoundly destructive to our interests and integrity.
The media has to change their policy and call a lie a lie when it is obvious.
Our Democratic leaders in Congress need to become far more confrontational in holding liars accountable for their lies. That means calling the liars "liars," not their "esteemed colleagues."
Newt and the rest of the Repubs consistently come off like the biggest assholes in the local high school.
Newt, all you've done is show the planet that you're the tiny little dog straining at the leash, yipping your little head off at the German Shepherd, knowing that you'll never have to back your words up with deeds of your own. That's what all those kids who grew up speaking ghetto languages are for.
All of you laughable "tough" guy chickenhawks are wracked with achingly obvious self-esteem problems.
Read it and weep
All you have to do is go read the archives of Media Matters, Eschaton, Digby, Media Whores Online etc. etc. to see why Democrats can't trust the MSM. They are biased against us and our presidential candidates. They helped sell the egregious WMD hoax.
Attention media whores: we do NOT trust you
Read FAIR's compilation of Iraq stories (Greenwald provides the link in his update) and then create your own compilation of ABC stories that either expressed skepticism about the claims in those stories or provided information that would have helped your viewers critically evaluate those claims.
If that's too difficult for your massive organization, just give us a compilation of stories you aired that illustrate Jennings' skepticism and that, as you claim, ABC was not culpable for the massive deception of the American people that occurred in the run up to the war. Of course, if you're smart you'll make the compilation as comprehensive as possible.
I feel compelled to warn you, however, that you are now communicating in the blogoshpere. This is not like tv where you all get to air whatever you want unchallenged. You better make sure anything you post here is accurate, because the blogosphere's b.s. detectors are more accurate than USAF smart bombs.

Sorry for the repost but I really want Schenider to replay and I was worried my post would be lots among all the wankfest posts.
The media whores have a double standard.
At this point, in the year 2007, it is crystal clear that the media whores are our enemies. Their offenses are many and grave.
Holy SHIT!!! They had bentonite? Does their evil know no bounds?
The main difference between Mogwai and the Rolling Stones is that members of the Stones DO blow, while Mogwai simply blows.
This is why we don't trust you media whores.
Catholics gather together to eat what they maintain is literally the physical body of Jesus and to drink his blood. They specifically argue that these claims are not meant metaphorically or symbolically, but literally.
If Keith is over the line so are hundreds of millions of Catholics.
