"Last time I looked, people were innocent until PROVEN guilty."

Last time I looked I was commenting on a blog not arguing a case in a courtroom, moron.

Again, if you have evidence of lying to Congress, I suggest you contact the closest JAG officer."

Lets just say I don't have quite as much confidence in the military justice system as you, pinhead. I don't think I'm going to waste my time, but thanks for the naive suggestion.

"And BTW, MY credibility is not in question at this juncture...I have only submitted logical and legal arguments to which you have yet to answer."

Oh but your credibility IS in question, Mr. Warhawk. Its called accountability, son. Over the last 6-7 years, people taking the kind of position you're taking now have been proven liars over and over again. That is your reputation now -- and you earned it.

I submitted logical evidence as well. Petraeus lied about the reductin in violence. Now respond with some counterevidence if you can. I suggest you not look at the GAO report, the NIE, or the independent media counts though because they prove my case, not yours. All you have is Petraeus, and that is precisely what is at issue.

@ Garry Owen

"It appears Joan was stating exactly what you were, with one distinction and that is she originally wrote that she thought the MoveOn ad headline itself was not helpful. The headline, fool. Not the body text of the ad itself."

That's the whole point, idiot. If you accept the text of the ad, then being afraid of the headline just menas you are huge pussy, pussy.

"YOU are the one who is giving the authoritarians all the advertising copy they need to stay in power."

Advertising copy? LOL. Most Americans assumed Petraeus was going to betray us BEFORE the ad and none were swayed by the simpering of pussies like yourselves to start supporting the war afterward. You are right however if one thing is true. If we sit back and allow the authoritarians to push us around, then they will psuh us around. But I'm suggesting that pussies like you be sidelined and we stand up for ourselves instead.

"Democrats will not win over the middle American voter who believes in his heart that our military is a noble institution."

But MovOn didn't attack "the military," dumbass. They attacked one guy. You bought the authoritarian frame hook, line, and sinker! And that's why pussies like you have to be sidelined, so the real patriots can fight for their country.

We're All Equal In This Country - Learn It, Live it

Look, Petraeus decided to step into the public square -- and not for the first time. He has a history of allowing himself to be used for partisan political purposes. In 2004, he lied about Iraqi readiness 5 weeks before the presidential election, helping the Republican party. Now in 2007 he is injecting himself into politics again. And rumor has it that he wants to run for president.

Once you step into the public square, you are just another citizen among citizens. You don't get any special treatment because of your job.

If Petraeus can't stand the political heat, he should get out of the kitchen. And all of you frightened pussies should stop trating him like he is your Lord and Master.

BTW: in case you didn't notice, the Repubs attack generals all the time if they don't like what they say.

Let's Cut To The Chase

1) There was no significant Iraqi readiness in 2004 and there is none in 2007. What we were looking for was a significant Iraqi capability that would stand up so we could stand down. We were told stories about legion after legion of Iraqi forces about to take the battle to the insurgency themselves. The whole idea is a farce in the first place because even if we succeed in standing up Iraqis all we are doing is arming and training Islamist Shiite militiamen.

Didn't happen. Still hasn't happened.

2) The Surge (more accurately: temporary small escalation) was a joke that had no chance of success from the outset. Success was and is creating the conditions for a political reconcilaition of the Iraqi people.

Didn't happen. Still hasn't happened. Ain't gonna happen.

End of story.

@ Garry Owen

"criticizing ANYONE in a military uniform, regardless if he is a Pentagon hack, or not, is asking for it.

"Asking for it"? LOL. Not in AMERICA, son. Perhaps you thought you were in the Soviet Union?

You sound like a 10 year old afraid of getting caught by his schoolteacher. Pussies like you are half the problem with this country.

"Asking for it"?

Go lick some boot, you frightened, submissive little pussy.

"Apparently, there are some dead terrorists who, if they could speak, would probably say the war is doing something to their ranks anyway."

LOL. ROTFLMAO. Bwahahahahahahahaha.

So you're saying that killing a few terrorists (while their population and training increases in the net) has led to a political reconciliation of the Iraqi people?

I think not, bro.

@Anonymous

"I believe what Gary is trying to convey to you is that people like the military and it isn't in the best interests of the politicians to criticize them at this time."

You keep making the same mistake over and over. Moveon didn't attack "the military". They attacked one guy who stepped into the political square and tried to mislead the public.

Read that last paragraph several times until you understand it, pussy.

@Anonymous

"Their population and training increases? Hummm...I'm sorry...I didn't know you had a direct pipeline of information from Al Qaeda."

No, I don't have any special al Qaeda sources. However, I do have the intertubes and I was able to read the NIE report that says exactly that.

You people don't understand what's going on. You don't have a grasp of the facts on the ground. And you don't understand the politics.

That's why you should sit down and shut the fuck up.
