Dumb Canadians. They should study how the US does it:
First, subsidize the cost of digging up, and processing the fuel. Never mind about health insurance for the people (read Indians) who do the mine work. Now lease the fuel to the nuclear power companies so they don't have to include the spent fuel storage costs.
Now pay for insurance, or at least cap the insurance fees. Stream line the approvals process, give huge tax breaks for the construction costs - oh - and let government pay for the cost of the design costs while you're at. Did I forget anything? There must be more govt. subsidies I forgot about. In the end, hey - Nuclear power is too cheap to meter, and there's never been an accident.
Oh yes, that's it. I forgot to mention that you lie and lie and lie about the whole process, and pay off the lobby people in DC to smooth the whole project - and get yet more money.
See how cheap nuclear power can be - in America.
The way these people are operating, I can't help but wonder if they would support, indeed demand healthcare if Obama was against it.
Perhaps racism is really the issue.
PALIN - the people who support her will never support anything Democratic. Let's get over it and not waste time trying to win them over. For all of Obama's warm overtures, only one Republican voted for public health, and just maybe he's an illegal immigrant.
POPULIST RAGE? A lot of that problem is due to our democratic representatives who have meekly allowed the right to walk all over them. Where is their spirited defense of government? Public programs? Letting bankers get away with grand theft of public money? etc., etc., etc.
Americans know something is very wrong in government. Let's address that.
So John McCain and Don Rumsfeld complained about the Defense Department (War Department) spending. So What?
It's practically required to complain about govt. spending so business can continue as usual. No - it requires real leadership to overcome the lobbyists and their paid-for congresspeople and have real reform.
Where is the outrage?
