"Lack of substance" and "Early" Debate

For everyone decrying how "early" this is happening, I'd suggest you take a look at the new "improved" primary schedule. If one candidate dominates on Super Duper Tuesday, or whatever the hell they end up calling it, this thing could be close to locked by the end of February. Which, last time I checked, is about nine months away. If you don't like seeing campaigns this early, direct your complaints to your state legislators, not to the candidates.

As to everyone who's insisting that Obama lacks substance, I'd like to respectfully suggest that you actually read Obama's last book. Notwithstanding the title, or what you might have assumed if you've swallowed the current MSM narrative, it is not your typical marshmallow fluff platitude campaign book. It is actually quite wonky. It presents a cogent analysis of where we are politically, economically and historically, and how we got here. It delves deeply into U.S. history and Constiutional principals and yet holds your interest all the while. (One would almost get the impression that he was a former constitutional law professor at some elite law school or something.) Seriously, its hard not to come away with the impression the guy's got far and away the best mind of any of the candidates running and, indeed, if elected, could be one of the smartest people ever to hold the office.
