Glenn, I hope you'll grant me a little latitude here.....
[Read the article: The warped reality of our media stars]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]My favorite has to be: "Max Cleland got his arm blown off reaching for a beer".
Glad to help.
-- L.W.M.
That's not quite what I said. Come back when you get it right. Until then that makes you the liar.

Onward
[Read the article: The warped reality of our media stars]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It ain't the lies (today, at least). It's da stoopidity. Yaknow, like citing an "online poll" for ET adherence....
Cheers,-- Arne Langsetmo
Actually Glenn originally used that idea to lampoon some other poll. I'm just using the same basic idea of a poll's worth. As for "stoopid", did you read the post you requested from me, outlining why Congress can't unilaterally surrender the US during a war?

Upward
[Read the article: The warped reality of our media stars]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Your cries of 'but Clinton did it' are disengenuous. Your cries of 'there you go, comparing Republicans to Nazis' are disengneuous. If you actually were honest about it, you would realize that these arguments hold no water, are not true, do not relate to the comment or post that they purport to attack. They are disengenuous and without merit.
-- chemical
Disingenuous? Hardly. Pointing out that Clinton did exactly the same thing Bush may be criticised for, is certainly valid to point out hypocrisy. One can say that both are wrong in something, but to allow one, while bashing the other for the same thing is wrong. Case in point is Feinstein's steering of DoD contracts to her husband. A Republican is in jail for the same thing while she merely resigns a committee post. Can you honestly consider that fair?
As for Republican-Nazi comparisons, I don't bring that up out of thin air. Suppose I were to start mentioning Democrats and baby-killers together? Do you think that would be offensive? I do. Perhaps you can now appreciate that such comparisons are noxious.
Without something specific to address that's as best as I can respond. If you have something I'll be glad to continue.

Oh brother.
[Read the article: The warped reality of our media stars]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]then you come back after everyone has said their peace and left, only to throw out even more dishonest assertions, red-herrings and strawman arguments now that no one's around to bother to argue with you anymore.
-- orbitboy
I have no idea how you come to view an admission that I might be wrong about the poll methodology as a dishonest assertion. If you want to bring up a quote, fine. Until then....

If you are really that experienced, then you know the person that makes an assertion has the burden of proving it.

Thank you Glenn, that seems to be it.

Shooter's not much of a conservative, but he's quite a card.
And did Feinstein resign a committee post? Not according to the story at : http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewPolitics.asp?Page=/Politics/archive/200704/POL20070404a.html
-- sysprog
Somebody is trying to impugn my integrity and veracity. What a surprise. Sorry bud, I just read reports like everyone else. From the same reporter in related articles below the link provided above....
Feinstein Leaves Senate Defense Panel Amid Controversy
So what's the real story? It seems she did resign her committee, but in 2005 halfway through the 109th Congress.
http://www.metroactive.com/feinstein/
But why? As her own site details she is on four full committees and eleven sub-committees. Obviously being chair of another sub-committee is not an either/or proposition.
http://feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=AboutDianne.CommitteeAssignments
So in the end Sysprog attempts to paint me with the MSM's misreporting, while ignoring the issue of corruption culture in the Democrat party. Tsk.

This is why it's a bad idea to admit a possible mistake.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Orbitboy
I'll reiterate: The lie was posted at 7:51 AM. You don't even suggest you might be wrong until nearly 2:00 PM.
I went out and played a round of golf, sue me.
That's a LONG time to leave such an inflamitory statement hanging there.
For anyone interested, I have finally figured out that the posting style of immediate and frequent rebuttals typical of the WaPo message boards where I spent my first years commenting is frowned upon in the blog comment sections. As for you orbit boy, I didn't realize you were so delicate that I had to watch my language. Heh.
And then, in one of your favorite tactics, you cite your "non-admission admission" as the example I cited to call you out as a liar, when in fact it was your original statement that I cited as the lie.
The obvious flaw here is that since TNS doesn't share it's methodology, it may still be true. We don't know. That is unless you have soemthing that directly contradicts me. Which apparently you don't. I can admit I might be wrong, how about you?

Everything is relative.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]kitt...
Would you please explain to us why it is that you have shown yourself incapable or unwilling to call the Democratic Party by it's name?
Life must be good indeed if this is the biggest thing you have to worry about. Rest assured that if I want to insult Democrats, you'll know it. Considering the regularity with which Republicans are called Rethuglicans or just conflated with Nazis, I have a hard time being overly concerned with your being miffed that the "ic" isn't properly included in the appropriate place.
That said, I can understand the irritation factor. The problem resides in the difference between "Democrat" and "Democrats" referring to the members of the "Democratic" party. At least getting the collective term wrong isn't pejorative. Be happy we don't call them the "baby-killer" party and leave it at that.
