The real devastating analysis.....

Devastating analysis. This post is a brilliant analysis and expose of the authoritarian mindset. I think that exposure of this mindset and its enablers in the mainstream media is the best antidote to the authoritarians that we have. The truth hurts. -- thegris

Or not. Perhaps if you folks see the actual clip you'll get a better sense of when you're being parodied. The real truth in this, is the observation...

there‘s a lot of this you know, sort of talk about how we don‘t want politicians to go by the polls, who don‘t put their finger in the wind and go with just whatever the prevailing conventional wisdom is.

And yet, Dick Cheney is really the only guy who doesn‘t bother talking the talk, he just walks the walk. He does not care, and I think it‘s a sign of character and integrity on his part that he just doesn‘t care.

Which leads to this.....

I think one of the things that bothers them is that he doesn‘t care. You know, there‘s nothing—you know, the opposite of love isn‘t hate, it‘s indifference. It drives stalkers and some hard-core lefties crazy. He just doesn‘t care what they think about him.

The absolute worst part of all this for the left, is that most people DO trust Bush and Cheney and that is one reason why. Politicians are slimy promisers delivering the illusion of integrity while doing whatever is required to maintain general approval levels. You may not like them, but they don't try to ingratiate themselves with pretense. There is nothing so feared in DC than an honest man.

OTOH - Halberstam wasn't sitting behind a computer at home in his pajamas ...

Maybe you should lighten up a little. Assuming this Reuters article is true, more reporters have died in Iraq in two years than died in Vietnam in twenty years. And this was dated 9/05.

Interestingly, the "rotted press corp" is primarily liberal.

Has anyone noted that anywhere? Perhaps it's the liberal tendency to believe anything, the lack of critical facilities? Oh yes, I'm sure the "corporate masters" have sent down the rules for what is reported and what isn't, but even then why would liberals stick around for conservative marching orders?

After seeing all the moaning, groaning, pointing of fingers and general vituperation, I can see that there is at least a modicum of pleasure derived from blaming people for things and taking no responsibility. Should a Democrats become one-party rulers next election cycle, perhaps there will be solace for we conservatives in heaping blame where possible.

Even today, it's easy to say Dems have failed miserably in the six months they've held Congress. So far....
* the immigration bill failed
* the war continues
* the culture of corruption hasn't diminished
* pork is now doled out without votes
* Gonzales is still AG
* Investigations have stalled
* Pelosi's independent foreign policy has had no results
* terrorists are emboldened in London

And so many more. I can see why you folks indulge, it is fun to sit in the seat of judgement. I look forward to devising new and better ways of heaping scorn on Democrat incumbents and those that support them.

P.S. In case anyone doubts the press is liberal you haven't seen the story where donations run 9:1 Democrat.

It's easy to rationalize failure....

But I'm glad that Civil Rights pioneers didn't, or Edison, or Columbus, or Galileo, or Churchill, or George Washington, or any of the other stubborn people that refused to admit failure in the face of popular condemnation.

There's a word for those that embrace failure, "losers".

And that egregious lie was what, exactly?

Don't forget "being exposed as a liar," too. If he's just a idiot, that's one thing. I can live with that. But when he flat out denies posting something that he expressly posted just minutes or hours before--that, I can't live with.

It's frustrating enough playing whack-a-mole with our resident trolls and their unflappable ignorance in the face of truth and logic. But if they're gonna come here and just make shit up out of thin air--only to later deny they ever wrote it--then my patience has officially run out.

Better make it good, because if you can't make a case, you're the liar. Heh.

Ignore....

Orbitboy -- At the very least, you are on record here as lying on the second asterisk point. This is no "gotcha." It's a clear lie. The exchange occurred @ lunchtime June 26.

So let's see, I'm a liar because I said this....

* Is there anything (in my post) about bringing terrorists to justice as unimportant? No.

After I said this?

but he (OBL) isn't a priority at the moment

OMG, I've been nailed! LOL.
So you think I've done a 180 and want terrorists to run free?
Like I said later, I had no idea you folks were so hot on OBL's capture. Who knew? If you can provide proof of life and a location, I have no doubt a unit would happily go get him. Meanwhile, if this is the smoking gun of my sympathy for Al Qaeda you go right ahead and keep it going until that idiocy is self-evident.

Again, my patience with you has run out. From now on, you are nothing but a waste of my time.

Oh, if only that were true. But alas, I know you don't have the fortitude. Luckily I do.
I just went through four pages of your letter archive and found not one iota of substance. Like the guy in the well, you are a troll with nothing good to say, nothing factual to add, and nothing insightful to offer. Welcome to the ignore list.
