re: Rutter

In case anybody's wondering which proud Australian it was who wrote the "fat, healthy and tanned" line, it was Murdoch columnist Andrew Bolt. He has a wide range of other similarly well-thought-out opinions:-- Daniel Rutter

So, do you have any proof he was wrong in this particular instance? Or are you just doing, what you've insinuated he does?

re: Question for shooter

Don't you think the mastermind of 9/11 should be caught and punished? Why aren't you up in arms over the administration's inaction on this front? I mean, Bush has made it as clear as he ever makes anything that he doesn't think bin Laden is a priority; but to me, his crime was pretty heinous.-- orbitboy

It certainly was, but he isn't a priority at the moment unless of course, he goes to Iraq. Besides, the reality is, that if he were actually captured and brought to the US, a smart lawyer like John Edwards could get him off with time served. Then he would probably go on the lecture circuit and make a pile of money like Clinton did. Only Republicans go to jail.

Orbitboy prevaricates

In other words you don't believe bin Laden should be brought to justice. Nice. Well, now we know where you stand.

LOL. How deliciously crude. Now we know where YOU would like me to stand, reality be damned... like say, an actual quote.

Two questions for sysprog...

When the FBI seized files from the office of Rep. William J. Jefferson (D-La.) as part of a bribery investigation, House Republican leaders erupted.

Well God forbid that Congress has to open up their records like the Executive Branch.
It's been two years since the cash was found in his freezer...
(1) Is he a Republican?
(2) Is he even in court yet?

Godfrey and the "Rage Boys"

Rage Boys

In any event, the argument that these two commenters are worth responding to (again and again and again) because they represent or reveal something interesting or relevant about Bush or Republicans or America or whatever else . . . is totally exhausted at this point.

LOL. Like your side has anything new to add to the mix? Of course it doesn't. In fact, Glenn sidestepped a really interesting controversy to rehash Guantanamo. Big Whoop.
Moreover, we provide a public service. The people commenting here are just like the Islamic Street as illustrated by Hitchens*. Visiting here is just a way to get their outrage fix for the day. Most have nothing to contribute other than vituperation. Much like your post.

I've spent most of the last six years in a bad mood over politics.

Exhibit "A".

Honestly, the reason I'm posting this comment is because I get the sense from the daily responses (Glenn's response to Tiberius today is a nice example) that people in the forum are getting genuinely pissed off, genuinely upset, by the pro-torture, pro-authoritarian posts of these two pests.

Free speech is a bitch, huh? If you want insulation from the big bad world, and the soothing harmonies of kindred souls, I recommend FDL for you. No dissenting views are allowed, and you can enjoy the echoes of your own voice in peace.

The most appropriate response (and the response most likely to discourage the posting of more of these nuisance comments -- comments that aren't designed to foster real dialogue, but are meant merely to inflame) is silence.

I for one, agree.

*Look Forward to Anger -- It's impossible to satisfy "Rage Boy" and his ilk. It's stupid to try.-- By Christopher Hitchens

"Lynx"? More like "platypus".

You really can't remember what you wrote just a post or two before? You're really demanding precise words from others when you make up crap out of whole cloth and attribute them to others?

If you have an example of that with a real live actual quote that hasn't been cut and pasted out of context, feel free to provide it for us.

Orbitboy's rephrasing is accurate given the full exchange.

And you chose not to provide the full exchange because? Perhaps it doesn't fit the profile you want to portray? Most people call that prevarication as well.

Halleluah, we are almost at a real quote....

Here we see the troll clearly on record that killing Iraqis is more important than bringing terrorists to justice. He is proudly ignorant of the difference between an Iraqi and a terrorist. He is now trying to pretend that we he says doesn't matter because it doesn't necessarily reflect what he thinks.

I'm amazed you can get all that out of this...
Shooter -- "It certainly was, but he isn't a priority at the moment unless of course, he goes to Iraq."

* Is there anything about killing Iraqis? No.
* Is there anything about bringing terrorists to justice as unimportant? No.
* Did I equate Iraqis with terrorists? No.

Which works for me as a good working definition of a liar.-- Paul Dirks

I think the peanut gallery can distinguish what I said, from what you want to hear. Heh.

@Platypus

Shooter -- "but he isn't a priority at the moment."

Gee, I had no idea that you folks were so hot to pursue OBL after six years. My most humble apologies for doubting your sincerity. If you can tell us whether he's actually alive, and where he's hiding in all the Muslim world, I'll bet we could coax the Army to go after him. Heh.
