re: shooterdickwad42

I see you haven't gotten any more literate in my absence.

you wouldn't need Jebbie or Glenn Greenwald or me to try to put a stop to it? Is that the "real world" case you are so happy with?

LOL. In the real world, I pay my taxes and drive slowly down Connecticut Ave. so I don't get nailed by the speedcams. I don't hang with guys in robes and beards, and I don't shoot at people in foreign lands, or build bombs.

But most of all in the real world, I certainly wouldn't expect you or your cohorts to help me out in any way. Nor would I want to. I'd rather rely on someone that knew what they were doing.

re: Levy

Sorry Bud, But I don't recall you or your questions. We out in the real world have actual lives.

You feelin' safer now, asshole.

Yes actually.

re: Jebbie

There's no hate involved in it, just the reality that he lied to get his ass elected. Not just ordinary little white lies, but BIG serious issue deal killer lies.

I love it. This is what happens when fantasies meet realities. Welcome to the real world.

Hmmmm. On second thought, we in the real world don't need you.

@ Durian Joe

No matter how much President Obama may disappoint us, our country is much, much better off with him as President and Joe Biden as V.P., than with John McCain and the ridiculous Sarah Palin.

I agree, which is why I voted for Obama.

For the third, but certainly not the last time....

Heh.

I haven't commented here for a while because there was no need. Things are progressing nicely, as anticipated and more.

Coming from Chicago, Obama is a reality based politician. Meanwhile you people are fantasy based. Isn't it just amazing, that actually having responsibility for decision making, changes one's perspective?

I know schadenfreude is not nice, but in your case well deserved.

Lest anyone missed it the first time....

Heh.

I have only one thing to say....

Heh.

Taibbi has it wrong

The people groveling are Democrats looking for handouts, the Financial Masters are Democrats from Goldman, and the people at Tea Parties are just on a steep learning curve foolishly thinking the "rule of law" is on their side.

The most interesting thing going on this morning is the battle between Chrysler bondholders, and the Obama administration trying to screw them in favor of the union. The deadline has been set for High Noon.

I'm rooting for the bondholders, they are seeking refuge in the rule of law, while Treasury is using the jackboot of unlimited funding to create a nationalized auto company owned by the union.

The latest episodes from the Dems just reinforce my observation that they aren't concerned about the country, just their own enrichment. You know, greedy. Heh.

@ Dr. Dave

Not bragging, just fact. My IQ tested out at 157. 780 on the SAT verbal. Published author and researcher. Psychologist, lecturer, and teacher. I read about 2000 wpm.

Of course you're bragging. You have cause. You are obviously good with words. My apologies for not measuring up to your standards, I will endeavor to do so in the future.

So I re-read your post at 10 AM THREE times- and it still made no sense.

Mea Culpa. Let me add to the first line....

Of course this is about retribution. By the actions of the Obama administration it certainly isn't about the rule of law.

I know its simply inconceivable to your hopelessly damaged psyche that honest, good people might feel that the torture and MURDER of innocent people is flat-out wrong.

Not at all. There was an example of torture extracted from a Sy Hersch speech that crossed my line. Small boys being sodomized in front of their mothers. I have no problem with trying and jailing the people that did that, if true. But that isn't the issue here. The issue is trying to convince people that Cheney, Bush, and Rumsfeld, either ordered, or approved, of the sodomy of children in front of their mothers. Or something similar like stress positions and loud music. Or that Nancy Pelosi is in favor of waterboarding. Hopefully she isn't in favor of sodomizing children in front of their mothers. But one never knows.

Actually all that is beside the point that such things haven't happened for years, and have been made illegal. The war has been won, the occupiers turned out, the regime is changed. Obama won.

But that isn't enough. "Punishment must be extracted." People that have no chance of being anywhere near power again must be made to suffer.... even though the law is so compromised, Glenn has to appeal to the UN's complaint department as authority. In contrast, Bush et. al. got authority from the OLC, the Constitution, and consulted Congress. Personally I think Bush has the better case. In any event it's good enough to drag this out for remainder of Obama's term(s).

But that is all in addition to the real point, that insistence on the rule of law is an absolute. You know, "Bush etc. broke the law and must be investigated."

Well, Rahm is living in an illegal apartment, the rule of law says he should be investigated. Obama is killing people all over the place without warrant or permission of Congress. He should be investigated. The Secretary of the Treasury evaded paying taxes. He should be investigated and since he's obviously guilty, prosecuted. If not now, then perhaps when the next administration arrives. Isn't that fair? According to Greenwald's standards it is. At least if the law applies equally to everyone.

What do you think?
P.S. If this is too difficult to decipher, I'll be glad to give it another go.
