Then let's make the investigation retroactive, Heh.
[Read the article: A Gonzales resignation is not enough]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Iglesias said that on April 3, he filed a Hatch Act complaint with the OSC, charging that Karl Rove and others may have violated the law by firing him over his failure to initiate partisan-motivated prosecutions....
......Iglesias also said that while evidence of Rove’s potential illegal actions is currently only circumstantial, “I believe if OSC digs in, they can get direct evidence.”
If any needed a map of motivation from someone this is it. To paraphrase -- "We think Rove should be investigated for whatever is plausible, No, there is no evidence of a crime actually committed by anyone. Perjury traps are our friends.'
I hope you can see that there are serious laws that may have been broken here...and that a thorough investigation is needed.
-- Luminous
LOL. Well, gee.... there are lots of laws.... that might have been broken........by you, for instance.........and should be investigated. But I think you'd claim that if it were done to you it would be oppressive, fascistic even. Hmmmm.
Come back when you have a real live crime to look at.

Bless your heart.....

-- Rich Miles
Because most people understand the delegation of duties, and the authority to execute those duties. You do it every time you vote.

How about Hillary in blackface.....
[Read the article: The Dan Gerstein sham]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]... to go along with the negro accent she's affected when speaking to black audiences.
But I suspect the real offense here is that Leiberman proved the Democrat party doesn't represent the desires of the people of Conneticut.
Hillary on the other hand seems to be in character going to a blog that censors it's non-PC commentors. Audience control is catching on with Democrats.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Comments like the ones on this site show why Firedoglake is so widely respected. The moderators stop the kind of childish stuff I see here. I like Glenn's work, but reading comments here is painful. -- masaccio
There it is. Censorship is a "widely respected" aspect of FDL.

Not so luminous

What are you talking about? If you want people to give your comments some consideration, you should try to make sense. You're embarrassing yourself. -- Luminous
The accusation a person MAY have broken a law, MAY have committed a crime, is applicable to everyone including you. It's a self-evident truth. There are "lots of laws" that we might catch you on if we look hard enough, yes? Indeed the US attorney was quoted saying there was only circumstantial "evidence".
If you are going to use a non-crime to pursue Gonzales, in a non-case, let's apply the same standard to you. Let's see how you like it.
The point being that IOKIYAD.

Some other folks that fit your standard for investigation. Heh.
[Read the article: A Gonzales resignation is not enough]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Are you familiar with the facts in this case? And do you understand how the legal system works? I'm new to this site, but I'm starting to catch on that you must be one of the resident trolls.
Yes, yes, and yes.
And when you say there's only circumstantial evidence -- that's real evidence.
I'm quoting the US Attorney filing the complaint, not offering my opinion. I also believe all parties have agreed that these are political positions and while Congress can confirm, that is the extent of their input. Period.
Again, the questions AT THIS STAGE of this case are: given the facts as we know them now, are there laws that MAY have been broken? And is there enough evidence of POSSIBLE wrongdoing to warrant further investigation? The answer is yes to both of those questions. The only decision at this point is whether further investigation is warranted. After more investigation, THEN comes the time to decide whether there's enough evidence to charge people in this case or not. And you're saying this case shouldn't even be investigated further?
Now, lets try this as little differently.
AT THIS STAGE of this case are: given the facts as we know them now, are there laws that MAY have been broken? And is there enough evidence of POSSIBLE wrongdoing to warrant further investigation? The answer is yes to both of those questions.
Let's substitute you for someone more notorious, than a clean living person such as yourself. Say Hillary Clinton? Harry Reid? Barbara Boxer? These people have actually done stuff that looks illegal to the naked eye. Your rationale suits these three considerably better than trying to criminalize politics.
And you're saying this case shouldn't even be investigated further?
That's right. What's the worst charge? It was a White House Operation? That isn't a crime. You folks don't like it? Too bad. Meanwhile Clinton took a bribe, Reid hid a partnership in newly valuable land, and Boxer helped her husband from the Senate. Laws MAY have been broken, and there's plenty of evidence to warrant further investigation. Those are YOUR criteria. Tell you what, get Waxman to haul those miscreants up before his committee, and I'll side with you on Gonzales.
We've already seen how an investigation based on no crime can endanger innocent people's reputations and careers. You folks should be ashamed of yourselves.

So let me see if I've got this straight.....
[Read the article: War as reality rather than cartoon]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The proper response to having missiles rained down upon one's cities is to...
* ignore them?
* start discussions?
* have a conference?
* surrender?
What do people think would happen if a group in Mexico decided to shoot missiles at San Diego? Offer them citizenship and a house?
Oh silly me. I think some of you would do exactly that.
