I can't believe that Akingu post is still up. It's disgusting. Salon at one time took this hateful posting very seriously which is why we no longer have anonymous posting. For heaven's sake, take it down and keep him off. He seems totally unhinged. Salon posters do get personal and disagree, but this is something totally different. It should go away and he should lose his posting privileges. Yuck.
It would be great to see more from PC in Salon. My situation is similar regarding tensions between mothers and daughters. I loathe my own mother with very good reason, and my oldest daughter loathes me, also with good reason. I have one daughter out of three that I get along with very well. Oddly enough, she was a very difficult child. It's not as interesting as this article, but misery does love company, not quite, but still. I loved it.
Could not possibly be worse with Obama as president than they are now with that absolute lunatic who calls himself President Bush. The people who support GWB and who call it all good now as opposed to the years Clinton was president are people who wish not to live in a tolerant society. I am sure we will hear more dire warnings about Obama as president, that he will raise taxes, and on and on. To think that what could happen is worse than what is already happening under the present administration is insanity. You would have to be insane or diabetically demented to like things as they are now or approve of this president. Go ahead and speak now because soon you'll all be forgotten and have no option but to realize that no one gives a damn what you think.
not to start feeling too superior but how on earth can I help it? I've never given a moment's thought to any of this nonsense, and I think I'm a better person for it. You know, go ahead get this operation if it will make the groom happy and keep the bride from being beaten or murdered--for now. I'm sure something else will happen to prove her unworthy, something totally unforeseen and decided upon by whoever needs a reason to beat up the bride. Just ridiculous if it weren't so sad. I mean what exactly do you win by having this operation? A lifetime with a complete lunatic and his family? Yuck. I also feel very superior to the Americans with more money than brains who would get either the vaginal rejuvination or hymenoplasty. so dumb
is always sad, and I am very sorry for his family and for him. However, my personal view is that I am just so glad it wasn't Bill Moyers. He is really the best.
but what is Roy Scheider's picture doing there? As for the man bashing and GHWB bashing, they're all big boys, they can take it. They certainly don't need us to rush to their defense. We just wanna enjoy.
It's Warren Jeffs. But I was trying to think why RS would be there, and sure enough I remembered on Law & Order Criminal Intent, he played a serial murderer on death row who reveals to Vincent D'Onofrio, whose mother is dying of cancer, that he may be his father. Now that would really be a very bad father.
it's not your place to tell other people their place
But i won't watch either of these shows. If you're going to recommend reality shows why don't you mention something like Dr. G Coroner (whatever) or Mystery Diagnosis. Those are interesting and instructive. Dr. G. will tell you pretty much how not to accidentally kill yourself, and Mystery Diagnosis will leave you wondering constantly if you have what they have. Moraliste is absolutely right about letting these go-nowhere careers die a more dignified death. There are so many people who just need to realize their careers are over or that they never have had one like Living Lohan (which I've never seen by the way).
I don't have a car and live in a city where you can either walk or take the bus or train, and I plan very soon on buying a bike. Anyway, I like it. It cuts down on all the junk you buy too. You only get what you can put in your own personal grocery cart or Ikea bag. Lived in the country for a while where I was queen of the road in my Toyota Matrix, but it was cold and lonely. We used to go the park but no one else ever went there because they had huge yards of their own with invisible fences for their dogs. You could walk to the store there, but it was not pedestrial friendly and it was about 5 miles to the nearest store unless you lived in the village (which I did not), then walking was fine. I like big yards, I like small towns, but I like a community too, and walking really makes you feel like part of one. I probably will rent a car this summer though and take my kids camping for a long weekend though, that sounds like fun. Oh yeah, the stores where I do my grocery shopping are stand-alone stores on streets with coffee shops, drugstores, hamburger joints, a fat-lady store, antique shops, pizza places, library. It's pretty cool. Sometimes I feel like I'm back east in the '50s.
pedestriaN friendly, not pedestriaL, and actually the small towns in the NE were doing very well up until the '70s, when Reagan became president. If you don't believe me, ask Bruce Springsteen.
