Performance

Since when is "More New Yorkers died on my watch than on any other" a campaign slogan? Well, maybe in Texas it would work out pretty well. Hey Look! Rudy got six million dollars there!

@essmeier

I wonder - do you think that someone might run a particular Southpark episode as an Anti-Mitt campaign ad? Whenever I see him I personally can't get the refrain of "Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb" out of my head.

The obvious solution...

Is a home made coupon book that offers abundant free backrubs, and a single coupon good for the 3G iPhone when it becomes available. After all, waiting for that iPhone to release is going to be very stressful.

I can't help it

Insert obligatory "caucus" pun here.

A telling detail!

"I am going to be talking about the role of religion, faith, in America and in a free society"

I am glad that at least one of the presidential candidates recognizes that it is now necessary to make a distinction between America and a free society.

I now look forward to hearing how Mitt thinks religion should figure in America versus it's place in a free society.

I really wish I wasn't so cynical. I really, really do.

You say potato

"the intelligence community, which has for some years now been leaking material calculated to undermine George W. Bush, is doing it again."

Some people refer to this material as "facts", and yes, they do seem to undermine our President.

Content

The existence of a Bob & Ray stamp somewhere in the world gives me hope for this sad planet. The fact that most people have only ever heard them, and would not recognize them on the stamp, just makes it sweeter.

Nothing like Horton

This case is nothing like the Horton case. In this case the candidate in question actively campaigned for a convicted criminal's release. Not supporting a furlough a program (which was created by a previous Republican governor), but supporting the release of a specific convicted rapist who he personally "felt sorry for", who went on to kill at least one, maybe two woman, and possibly one of Huckabee's precious unborn children.

The culpability here is clear and direct.

@Anonymous

It amazes me that republicans have no problem killing thousands and thousands of Iraqis, partially justified as avenging a failed assassination plot against a republican, but assume that something is fishy if an obviously guilty man goes to jail for raping several people, including a woman peripherally related to a democrat.

The party of law and order indeed. These people are nuts.

@Anonymous 2

Your original, very short post didn't provide any context for your statement, and it really did come off as "Oh! But look at the Clinton connection to this"! Also being anonymous, I too jumped to the conclusion of "Troll!"! Your second post is much clearer in intent and I completely agree with it - the other people involved in promoting the Dumond release are a bunch of true scumbags (to use a popular Republican term of respect).

It's like a broken record

Once again the president demands a state fully disclose to him a program that doesn't exist and will not accept an inspector and intelligence (real intelligence, not those clowns playing at making up intelligence in the Pentagon) confirmed "It doesn't exist" as an answer.

I can already hear the declaration, after the invasion of Iran, that "No one could have predicted that that Iran had no active nuclear weapons program".

So What?

Actually, I am pretty sure if various republicans had not worked for Dumont's release, it would not have happened. For a male, life in prison without the possibility of parole tends to severely limit your ability rape or murder a female victim.

This is not about someone doing their time, getting out, and then falling back into their old ways; this is about a deliberate campaign to get release a convicted rapist, who had also admitted previously in court to participating in a murder, back out on the street because Huckabee "felt sorry for him".

I do not heart Huckabee.

@kevmornj

Are you implying that Cheney is the final Cylon model?

Original article: Maybe Romney had a dream

Oh come one...

Mitt, Mitt, Mitt. If you are going to make up crap, go BIG. My father and I fought in the American Revolution! I was one of the drafters of the Magna Carta! I saw the crucifixion of Christ! In fact, I still have the T-shirt!

Making up stuff about marching for civil rights isn't going to get you any Republican votes anyway; George W. Bush is not the only party member that doesn't care about black people, after all.

Um...

It is a personal use for me to make a copy of a song and give it to a friend. That is actually pretty well established, regardless of what the RIAA might like to pretend, just as is format and time shifting. Or will they be going after the Bush twins for the exercise mix-CDs they have openly talked about making and giving their dad in the past? Can he be arrested for recieving stolen goods? That would be almost as wonderful as bringing down gangsters for back-taxes.

Well Equipped for a Change

For once the president is well positioned for doing something - after all he has the jawbone of an ass, so he sohould be able to do some good jaw-boning. Too bad it's in his head and not his hand.

I Want To Believe

Unfortunately, I need details and evidence to do so. Obama is a great speaker - what with the belly fire and all; unfortunately all he seems to be talking about is change and hope and reaching out. In other words, a lot of stuff that sounds good but doesn't really mean anything when you look past the totally awesome delivery.

I am glad that Edwards made a good showing, since at least with Edwards I have some idea what he is talking about actually doing if elected.

Personally, I will take angry over hopeful these days, since personally, I am pretty pissed off.
