I'm all for a 50-state strategy, but this one particular state is pretty much about as lost a cause as you can get. Why invest effort and energy into people who are proudly and overtly racist and vote against their own interests 100& of the time.
They are drunk on ignorance and an intervention won't do any good. Let them hit rock bottom on their own, sort themselves out and have them give us a call when they decide to join the 21st Century.

Hunter S Thompson gave the two best immediate post-election analyses at the time. They were both completely contrary to the CW at the time. Joan basically responded to the question, "How could have Gore blew it?" with, "Hoe come Gore did so well with so many forces lined up against him?" It was masterful. (Joan was this the article the one Donna Brazile thankede you for?)
The HST thing was just a few paragraphs he cribbed where he basically called Gore's attempt to take Bush's brother's state of Florida (in the month leading up to the election) to be audaciously brilliant, and compared him to Lee invading Gettysburg :-)
Anyways, RIP HST, and Joan please return to that kind of big picture analysis soon! We will need it. This internecine bickering isn't helping anybody. Night!

In addition, he used a great line/meme on McCain...that McCain wants to just keep "doubling down." This is a great phrase and he ought to keep using it. Lots of average Americans like to hit the casinos every now and then, so a very easy and humorous meme to grasp.
