SLUTTY JOURNALISM

SALON: Slutty Eyes indeed. Salon now finds itself in

a greasy stack of sleazemags in a massage parlour waiting room

Salon promotes an 'oh-so,-so,-soooo-With-it' upscale

dillitante-dysfunctional vacuity, matched by its 'definitely

-inside-the-beltway' observation (and promotion) of

"slutty politics". Projections for hunger and starvation from

many international agencies get coverage this weekend.

Salon will pick it up when it discovers food-for-sex

in Asia.

"Dont give a damn" cynicism is the style huh? And you are

ALL style now, except for Glen and Andrew.

Goodbye Salon -you were fun when you had a purpose.

Deathwatch continues....

WRITERS AND LOVERS.....

Good writing is like good lovemaking; (if Anything can be That good),

--in that you let the reader (lover) take a walk in your head, to poke around a bit, and reveal who you Really are: no walls, barriers, restrictions.

Like good lovemaking, it is risky and rare, few writers (lovers) are confident enough to let you in, (& let you stay, let you be.....)

More comment would be distracting and redundant:

Good writing Heather.

Ive been raw critical of some of Salon's choices, but I cant

ignore good writing any more than its opposite.

(hmmm... usually only scorpio's are That confident :-))

....many cheers, ARGONNE.

ITS STILL ON THE TABLE: (BUT THE FOOD IS NOT)

The American-Iranian war will show that 'conventional' weapons

are not diminished, even slightly, by the existence of nuclear

weapons.Did the gun make the knife obsolete?

The Vietnamese did not even have Aircraft. The blitz, the bombing of

Germany, Belgrade, and thousands of detailed examples show that a city

can be rendered as dysfunctional as Beirut in hours with conventional

weapons. So why do people think it takes more to destroy Tel Aviv's

functionality , or Diamona's (which = 90% of Israeli

targets.) It enables WMD propaganda, which

worked before, and is working again.

The pentagon has the power to destroy every living thing on the

planet, including the bacteria . So How can Anyone convince a

general that a bunch of unemployed ex army Iraqi's could bleed

the US into the ground?

It is the Goliath Blindness. The Vietnamese and now the Iranians

have played it brilliantly. How could a bunch of Hizbolla

fighters stop the Israelis, destroy many tanks, intercept

communications, and damage a navy vessel with a missle?

Of course the US will win the war, after it has dragged on for 5-10

years, destroyed the financial system worldwide, damaged gulf

oil refineries and cities, killed US troops, and Iranian children.

How many ships will be sunk? Will the green zone be destroyed?

The American standard of living will drop 30-40%, milk and bread

purchases will be delayed, to pay for grade 5 textbooks, as in

the3rd world.

The Democrats will assist in this as they have consistantly, with the

weasel whine that "Its on the table". Yes but there is no

food on the table.

SUTTUP AND KEEP DANCING!!

Chuck Prince, (former CEO of Citi), said: '--when

the music stops we'll stop dancing; -we are still dancing'

- the music has stopped, and a few smashed participants

are slouched together, shuffling to the memory of it.

Yeah, the party is over.

You can still dance though, its as productive as anything

on Wall St now.

They danced on the Titanic, didnt they? --that was 'the

Last Dance', more than we will ever know. Dancing with

the woman you have loved a thousand times, knowing

that she will die and you will die, and be forgotten, is a

picture that never fades, especially for those who are now

young, and still dancing...

Easy to ask 'why'? -no reason really: Life has no reason:

ask Plato, Nietsche, -you wont find it, but it is fun looking.

On the way, you will discover the most amazing

constructions the human mind has ever created. The

rationale beneath the palaces, armies, and treasuries from

Jerico to Babylon, to... New York city..

Ask why this couple, were dancing on the top deck of

one of the most luxurious liners ever built, possibly the

most expensive ocean crossing ever. We have answers

to that, to the 6th decimal place.. But why not Me?

-You had the thousand nights, and unless you were in

hospital or prison, Some, (less than theory, but more than

deprivation) of the champagne and lobster trickeled down.

The party is over. Nothing will trickel down now. The wars

will stop, when oil merchants, munitions merchants and

Haliburton, demand payment-up-front, and we are uh,

a little short just now...

Why me? Now?

What would you do if the party continued? You would

shuffle meaningless paper from your desk to another,

write and read useless email, make uninspired 'love'

to an uninspired companion, buy thingies at walmart,

eat eat eat to obscenity.

Why me now?? There IS a reason, if you think that

3 square and a little left over, (the Excess Wheat of Jerico)

is the foundation of prosperity (/deprivation).

If you look that far back you will also discover some

of the most degraded beings ever to wear a crown.

Leaders so mad that a "Million deaths" from their wars

was a small entry in the tax rolls.

Nature keeps trying: Many small 'stupid' apes disappeared.

before us.

After us she will try again.
