Salon is Back --Maybe

Hey people! The -Old Salon- is Back! - Nota bene, Joan - (my apostrophe is gone too; -in a New laptop no less)

I think that, it is, in effect, almost -cruel and unusual- for Garry to use very Literate

expression of his outrage: This is a setback for stereotyping respondents. Literate

response can confuse even a sharp lawyer (as can the Truth)

Isnt this discussion about style and substance (Q) (Sorry, -missing characters.)

How could we expect a simple cartoon to definitively express the infinite savagery

of religious hatreds (Q). I have seen it done, brilliantly, in only a handful of Euro

and mideast papers, where graphic expression IS religion, and v.versa

The cartoon would be an excellent intro for a highschool history class in both

medium and message. (isnt this what we are arguing about -Q: That we are Past highschool, thankyou.)

Garry, paprika with cayenne works. Especially after a shot of very rare rye,and havarti gnochi on the side with smoked brisket and v. Hot mustard,-a bit of artichoke-tomato salad with Mex sauce. Will try the Teqi.

A friend asked Thoreau -What are you doing behind these bars- Thoureau asked: -What are you doing Outside of them- -Q If you are not angry, you are not listening: You are not even conscious

You deplore outrage until the Boots stomp on Your front porch at 3 am. Then you Regret.....

Losing your Individuality, your freedom is cruel , unless you Have none, but --do you have to Prove it QQ (not QQ.com,

China :-) If Outrage does not begin on paper, -then it does not begin. The world is one F-d place Garry. Waking the sleeping always is thankless and risky. Maybe we should briefly switch to Warming or Outsourcing just to get the

full flavour flavour of this wretched capitulation.

The soldier doing his third rotation, the Chinese who survived the cultural revolution but lost her youth,

the Hindu recently converted to Buddhism, the Arab seeing the destruction of his city and mosque, the Jew who cannot ever

forget the Boots, the Vietnamese in carcenogenic

agony...and on and on.... --must read the nuanced asides of the Sleeping and see Rome, or the Imperial Court, or Weimar

Berlin, or a Washington chapel with born again colonels

presiding........ Disbelieving that anyone can still -Sleep-. The world hates Balls. Not just psycho waterboarders, that is a simple choice. The intelligent balls of whistleblowers, of some conscientious politicians, of a captain ordering -stand down- in a crowd of children and under minimal threat. Kickass women are not fooled by the fake nicities of the sleeping. They have slept with a few -psychos- and know how deep the rot can be. They know how screwed the world is, and that only a brave or mad individual would even try to set it right. We have become so enfeebled by perceived complexity and uncertainty that we run to that excuse, castigating those who see simplicity and certainty, which disturbs their sleep. Bravo Garry, for bringing back Salon from the brink of Irrelavance.

I looked for your reasons and examples.

There are none. Try remedial English,

or stay out of the pool hall for a while

till you get used to real communication.

Shouldnt you be watching tv or eating

or something

THE FOOL ON THE HILL

The Fool on the Hill

Day after day,

Alone on the hill,

The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still,

But nobody wants to know him,

They can see that he's just a fool,

And he never gives an answer,

But the fool on the hill

Sees the sun going down,

And the eyes in his head,

See the world spinning 'round.

Well on the way head in a cloud,

The man of a thousand voices is talking perfectly loud

But nobody ever hears him,

Or the sound he appears to make,

And he never seems to notice,

But the fool on the hill

Sees the sun going down,

And the eyes in his head,

See the world spinning 'round.

And nobody seems to like him

They can tell what he wants to do.

And he never shows his feelings,

But the fool on the hill

Sees the sun going down,

And the eyes in his head,

See the world spinning 'round.

woah ooh,

Round and round and round.

He never listens to them,

He knows that they're the fool

They don't like him,

The fool on the hill

Sees the sun going down,

And the eyes in his head,

See the world spinning 'round.

SPIN = AIPAC AT WORK

Neither Israel or Aipac wants the US to withdraw from

Iraq

Aipac can squeeze newspapers but not blogs or SALON into promoting spin

Why do you think that newspapers are so out of step with

the voting public ??

Aipac owns the dems the newspapers and the columnists

This is why spin is so pevalent now --Before the great

deception in September which will supposedly show progress

in Iraq.
