[Read the article: Is it "contradictory" to decry the right's tactics while insisting on their equal application?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]-He is typically tied or even sometimes ahead. Why? Because the Cult of Personality constructed around him -- just as was true for George Bush -- remains largely unchallenged, while the right-wing/media monster demolishes the personality and character of the Democratic candidates.-
Also 'why'. How does Obama campaign effectively against McCain while he is busy wrestling with the Clinton wrecking-ball?

[Read more letters about this article: Here]-Of course, I don't think I'd trust Hillary not to circle around behind the stage and go right back out there to scorch some more earth...-
...and later claim she was ducking sniper fire.

[Read the article: The harmony between the Right and the media]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]-Try thinking of it this way: A three party fight between the extremist right who have taken over the GOP, the left and right wings of the Democratic party. The former moderate Republicans are in the Democratic party now and that is causing this as much as anything. It happens. It happened to the GOP when the battle was to move it to the right, and it is happening now when the battle is over moving the Dems back to the center. Hillary is as much or more of a Republican as Nixon ever was. Milton Friedman thought Nixon the most socialist president of the 20th century. Obama is still just a moderate conservative by global standards. McCain is just the extremist right's candidate. Even Goldwater would vote for Hillary or Obama today. Probably Hillary. She used to be a college Republican and got interested in politics because of Barry Goldwater, then she flipped. This really is shaping up as a three party battle but with only two parties. DNC, DLC and GOP. That's because under our system, entryism, taking over an existing party from within, is easier than a third party becoming dominant.-
Good observations. I agree with your comments.

[Read the article: Mukasey dishonesty update]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]-Chuck Schumer and Dianne Feinstein. As far as I'm concerned, the mistake of 'vouching' for Mukasey and allowing him free reign to cover up the vast number of Bush Administration crimes is the mistake that should cost both of them their careers-
DiFi is 80 and I understand she will not run again. Since she and her husband are enriched by his involvement in 'defence' industry, career shouldn't be an issue...

Its like one of those citrus-based household cleaners. You can apply it to almost anything.
And it rhymes with Al Gore.

[Read the article: Major revelation: U.S. media deceitfully disseminates government propaganda]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Hillary's defense earmarks benefited some of the world's largest weapons producers, many of which have factories in New York. Among the most prominent include Northrop Grumman, which Hillary singled out for $6 million to develop a new radar system; Plug Power, for whom Hillary secured $3 million for a backup power system for Pentagon operations; and Telephonics, which Hillary gave $5 million for an intercom system for Black Hawk helicopters.
Her biggest coup of all was a multi-billion-dollar contract she helped to secure for Lockheed Martin to build the Marine One presidential helicopter — a project derided by insiders as a typical example of Pentagon waste. "Oh, the presidential-helicopter thing is a classic boondoggle," says one congressional source. "They could have taken any old Black Hawk helicopter, put a nice interior in it and a decal on it, and it would've been OK. Instead, we got this thing that costs four times as much. It's nuts."
Indeed, the Pentagon confirmed in March that the helicopter Hillary made sure would be built at Lockheed's plant in Owego, New York, would, in fact, cost $400 million per unit — more than the modified Boeing 747 used as Air Force One. You heard right: $400 million for a single fucking helicopter."
If she had known then what she knows now....

[Read the article: Media's refusal to address the NYT's "military analyst" story continues]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]-Gosh, all of the peanut gallery thought the Generals were not affiliated with the Pentagon in any way?-
No. Not for decades, actually. Duh...this is not the first 'war' that the Pentagon has stage managed and one would have to be more than a little thick to be picking up on that for the first time, no?
It's not your first time, is it Spewter?

[Read the article: Interview with Aaron Brown on NYT "military analyst" story]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]-Perhaps it is best summed up by something Stormin' Norman said:
Any soldier worth his salt should be anti-war. And yet there are things still worth fighting for.-
With all due respect to Gen. Schwartzkopf, CBC's the fifth estate reported a few years back that the Patriot Missile's record of a near 100% kill rate against Iraqi scuds in Gulf I were falsified and Schwartzkopf was one of the main characters implicated in the scam. In fact they had closer to a zero kill rate. Raytheon made hundreds if millions selling them to Israel who subsequently ended up developing their own ABMs that were said to actually work as advertised.
"April 2, 2003
THE CAN'T MISS MISSILE
It was touted as the best defence money could buy against Iraqi Scuds and other deadly missiles. But as the fifth estate's Bob McKeown demonstrated on our February 5 programme, the Patriot missile turned out to be a bust in 1991. And now in the early days of the war in Iraq, it seems as if the Patriot has revealed one more fatal shortcoming. It is having trouble telling the difference between friend and foe. A whole new take on a cautionary tale about military hardware and military obfuscation."

[Read the article: Interview with Aaron Brown on NYT "military analyst" story]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]-"Americans want to believe the honesty and integrity of anyone in a military uniform..."
Hence, Codpiece/Mission Accomplished Day. Hard to question the honesty and integrity of a guy in the military drag of a third world dictator.-
I had the very same thought....
