  • Cronin

[Read the article: Will Bush and Gonzales get away with it?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So Mr. Cronin, who voted twice for Bush, supported the swiftboating of his fellow Vietnam veteran (and fellow hero), John Kerry.

Where's Cronin been all this time? Too little...way, way too late.

  • This made me wonder about their white father

[Read the article: Don't be black on my account]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The author refers to him only in passing. Why so little mention of him? What is his response to his son's questions? Isn't this something the parents should address together?

  • I was at last year's Take Back America

[Read the article: For Clinton, a warmer reception]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

And I'm so freaking tired of hearing about how Hillary got booed there. She did get booed, briefly, during one part of her speech. But she also got loud applause during other parts of her speech. The applause was much louder and more sustained than the boos. Yet all I ever hear about is Hillary getting BOOED. I'm not even a big Hillary but an eyewitness, I'm here to set the record straight.

  • Et tu, Salon?

[Read the article: Impressions of Paris' last night in jail]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Salon seems to be focusing more and more on entertainment "news" and "upscale culture" features, and less and less on political commentary.

Finding Paris Hilton in the top spot on your front page was a total slap in the face. You'd better hold on to Glenn Greenwald, because he's the only reason I'm still reading Salon after this.

  • He's a user and if you put A-B in front of the word USER once again you have an ABUSER

[Read the article: I left an abuser, but now I'm with a married man]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

You have picked yourself another winner -- a man who is abusing his wedding vows and his wife's trust. I guarantee she doesn't have a clue that he's less than a model husband who is cheating on her.

He's also abusing his kids' innocence by risking his marriage to their mother with his meaningless fling (and again, I make you a gurantee: His fling with you is meaningless to him) with you.

He is also abusing you by taking advantage of your vulnerability to get you in the sack, which is all he wants from you. He doesn't love you or care about you. He doesn't give two hoots about you. You aren't special to him. There is only one person in the universe who is special to him, and that is the person he sees when he looks in the mirror.

He's feeding you a line of bullshit so that you will service him. See HIM for the abuser HE is, and get out now.

  • I've been trying to break myself of the habit of reading this column

[Read the article: My girlfriend tried cocaine at a party! She was drunk! Oh my God!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

And I think the over-the-top ridiculing headline, the smug and self-righteous response by Cary Tennis, and the pileup of hysterical responses just did the trick! Apparently the LW hit a real nerve!

  • Doesn't he get enough coverage in the MSM?

[Read the article: Mike Huckabee, on a wing and a prayer]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This interview turned my stomach. Just what we need, another fundie in the White House.

  • PUH-FUCKING-LEEZE!!!!!!!!!

[Read the article: Give Newt a chance]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Yesterday Salon treated us to Mike Huckabee, today it's Newt Gingrich.

Why the fuckity FUCK are you wasting space on these cretins?!

  • Mr. Conason....

[Read the article: Romney and Huckabee's religious intolerance ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    I love you.

  • Thanks for reminding me why I hate religion

[Read the article: The atheist delusion]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

and most of these letters prove it. Many of the new pop atheists and obviously most of these letter writers are woefully ignorant of religion. I would be more impressed if some of these letter writers were capable of actually writing something thought provoking...but they can't, because quite frankly they are uneducated reactionaries. To consider yourself educated and I don't mean that you have a degree from some cow state college diploma mill, I mean really educated in the classical sense, you ought to be able to discuss religion with some understanding and knowledge and none of you can do it. I went to a Jesuit University and questions such as those raised by Mr.Paulson were an integral part of my curriculum and I cringe when I read such willfully ignorant rants. Being well versed in theology and religion should be part of any liberal arts education...for atheists and believers alike.

Sorry toots...you can discuss it while wrapped in your Jesuit coll...er, UNIVERSITY degree until the cows come home but you can't deny the basic truth: HUMANS created religion, and humans with the need for such things create the gods that fit their needs, other humans just don't have the need for it. Didn't need to study that in school, figured that out all by myself.

  • I despise both Ron Paul and Harry Reid

[Read the article: Harry Reid's pro-life stance vs. Ron Paul's ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

As a woman, reproductive rights are extremeley important to me. If you could get pregnant, Glenn, they would be to you too -- much more than they appear to be based on this and other distressingly pro-Ron Paul columns of yours that I've read. Since you can't get pregnant, and will thus never have to face the consequences of an unwanted pregnancy, you have the luxury of considering the subject of reproductive rights a purely academic one. Sure must be nice!

  • And this has WHAT to do with Ron Paul and Harry Reid?

[Read the article: Harry Reid's pro-life stance vs. Ron Paul's ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

you have the luxury of considering the subject of reproductive rights a purely academic one.
And in China it is considered a purely economic one!

The point is, neither Glenn Greenwald, Ron Paul, nor Harry Reid will ever face the prospect of being forced to carry and bear a child they don't want. As Gloria Steinem once said, if men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament. I find it interesting that women's reproductive rights exists to Glenn Greenwald as fair'n'equal treatment of Democrats vs Republicans exists to the mainstream media -- in a real blind spot. The MSM can't see why Glenn is so fired up about lopsided political coverage, and Glenn can't see why women are so fired up about the short shrift he gives to our ability to choose.

  • BOINNNNNNG-G-G-G-G-G-G-G-G-G!!!!!

[Read the article: CNN's John King responds]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    You hit a nerve.

  • I am playing

[Read the article: "Because I love America ... I have to now stand aside"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    my teeny tiniest violin!

  • Oh, by all means, it's just a cat, have your cat put to sleep if he develops another blockage

[Read the article: What I wouldn't do for my cat]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

But only if YOU stand there beside him, hold his FRIGHTENED, YOUNG, ALIVE and FIXABLE little body, and WITNESS the vet injecting your trusting pet cat with the drug that will stop his heart.
