Maybe women don't get it...
[Read the article: Teenage boys not so sex crazed?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Teenaged boys are obsessed with sex and would like to have it with many different partners. Teenaged boys want someone they can love and have a stable relationship with. (I know this because I haven't changed much since I was a teenager many decades ago). These two things are not contradictory to the male mind.
For boys It is easier, and more fun, to discuss sex, so that's what you will hear them talking about the most. For girls it is easier and more fun to discuss their fantasies about marriage and relationships, so that is what they talk about. To a certain degree this is an innate difference, but social custom probably has more to do with it.

Reprehensible
[Read the article: The dude vote]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If you would just come out and say everyone who is against Hillary Clinton is a sexist pig bottom feeder at least you'd be honest. Every enthusiastic Hillary supporter I've met, has one overriding reason they like her, because she's a woman. So who is sexist?

Backhanded compliment
[Read the article: It's OK to vote for Obama because he's black]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Salon has really tried my patience this primary season. Maybe its because they resent that a candidate can attract such an enthusiastic following. I'm a white man, and Obama's race is not a factor for me, but the fact that he has experience being an outsider does. I suppose we will never see an article stating what everybody knows, that Hillary Clinton's supporters are voting for her mostly because she is female.

Keep it interesting
[Read the article: Should Hillary Clinton drop out?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]With two contenders for the nomination the Republicans have a "moving target" to shoot at. They've been aiming at Hillary Clinton for the past year, but now they are not so sure about that and are fighting a two front war. But she should keep the debate on issues and avoid personal attacks on Obama and his supporters. The whole party needs to enthusiastically back to nominee. And whatever happens, don't make it a bitter divided convention.
Obama vs. McCain (and I'm sure that what it will be) will be like shooting fish in a barrel. The Republican party is divided. Running on the legacy of George W Bush is not a good strategy. Much to his credit, McCain will not run a nasty Rovian campaign of malicious rumors and personal attacks. Unfortuantely for him, this is the only way he can defeat Obama.

Error in logic
[Read the article: The rhetoric of slavery and climate change]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]While I support efforts to curb global warming, the argument presented here is a corralary to the classical error in logic called "argumentum ad Hitlerum" which states that comparing anything to Hitler precludes any sort of logical result. Comparing things to something so objectionable as slavery, even if the comparison makes sense, is the same sort of argument.

He can
[Read the article: Curious George]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]When you've had a succesful career like Carlin, not only by working hard but by being lucky enough to resonate with such a large audience, you can afford not to give a fuck. It's not like he's going to to end up starving or in jail. The rest of us have to care to survive.

Lets get over it...
[Read the article: Obama should be proud to be named Hussein]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]We have to get over thinking that there are two worlds, Christian Europe and Muslim Middle East/North Africa. They have been intertwined for centuries. Remember Western Civilization began in Mesopotamia and Egypt, a major stimulus for the Renaissance was contact with the Muslim world. The fact is that if we look back far enough in our family tree most American will find Muslims, especially if their ancestors are from Africa or Southern Europe.

Oh Puhleeeze!
[Read the article: Die, Daddy, die!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I thought that this article was about the mixed feelings you have when someone is terminally ill, something I've experienced. Instead Shields has chosen to publish in a book things that are best confined to a psychiatrist's couch. And he is one sick puppy!

Democracy?
[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]There are real differences between the candidates, and it is not pouting when I say, I don't think I can ever check off Hillary Clinton's name on the ballot.
The candidates must focus on the issues because personal attacks will only give fuel to the Republicans.
If the race against McCain is even close, the Democrats should just pack their bags, because if you can't win against the Hundred Years War, then you have become totally irrelevant.

So why not?
[Read the article: The bowel movement]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Overall this article makes a good point. Sure there are inappropriate times and places to discuss this subject and some people get obsessed about it and overestimate it's importance yeah, yeah, yeah, we all know that. But the point is there is almost NO place you can talk about this subject. Having gone through six months of excruciating constipation I found you just cannot find anyone to listen to you. Even my partner got annoyed when I would give reports on what I had just been though on the toilet. And when I wanted to shout for joy when I found a solution (it's called PoopDoc) I couldn't do that either.
Surely we can tell a lot about our health by what comes out of our bodies. You'd be a fool not to even take a look, but I can see by these letters, most people are too disgusted to do even that. When I think of all the money we spend on medical tests to tell us our state of health, it seems only economical to do a regular check of your bodily excretions.

Just what I need...
[Read the article: Introducing 5 Things!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]More annoying crap filling up the space on my screen, more of someone else telling me what I want ... can you say "marketing"?
Keep is Simple!
