I live in NYC & subscribe to New Orleans' Times Picayune. Page A-14 of the Sunday paper carried a little article entitled: "Palin church pushes 'pray away the gay', that essentially "promises to convert gay people into heterosexuals through the power of prayer", etc.

This assumes that homosexuals WANT to be heteros; this also clearly indicates just how stupid this reincarnation of that bigoted Anita Bryant woman truly is! She is a frighteningly bigoted racist fundamentalist. She'd do best to take it easy on the criticism - she's already got one child who decided to not practice abstenance; who's to say one of her others my actually BE gay?! Stranger things have happened:

Does anyone recall the movie starring Wynona Rider called: "The Heathers"? It was a cliqué of 4 girls, all of whom called themselves Heather, who went around victimizing, even resorting to the ultimate - murder - when things did not go their way. Palin likely was one of those types in school, though her platform was different --she was in sports. She was probably a bully as well; kicking one's friends to the curb and under the bus are not sterling qualities to boot.

Mean-spirited, ambition-at-any-cost and by any means necessary people have always been part of our lives; they lie, cheat & steal with no conscience. Palin embodies that most embarassing, egregiously hostile ambition to the point of murder, figuratively & literally, that a female can possess. Many of these women who look as she does relate to her, but they do not know what lies beneath that hockey-mom, sugar-coated veneer. What exactly IS the upside to ANY female being a PIT BULL in lipstick, pantyhose or anything?

The fact that she's a fundamentalist states that there's never any room for flexibility in her life and generally these types of people scorn or will kill anyone who doesn't believe what they believe; and would prefer if they ALL looked like Palin.

She'll lie by comission as well as omission.

Because she got in the ring with the big boys, with her gun, her PITBULL profile, and scorching-ambition-at-any-cost yammering, that's why. She loves fighting, killing, and bullying, pushing, shoving and kneeing....That's why! In other words... you put yourself out there to be targeted, and in America, they're MORE than willing to accommodate.

She's in the ring... She NEEDS to get her as WHIPPED, ROYALLY. That's what McCain put her out front for; so he could sit back and relax and tell us just how STRONG THE ECONOMY IS.

Paul Newman will always be Brick Pollitt to me-- that brooding, torn & handsome son to Big Daddy and husband to Maggie the Cat in that movie taken from Tennessee Williams' play, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof".

But wow....! What a humanitarian. How many folks in his postion, Hollywood and all, can say they really made their lives account for something -- for himself as well as for others?

AND he remained married to the SAME woman all those years -- that rarely even happens outside of Hollywood. THat especially impresses women everywhere I'm sure; the line about him having steak at home so why go out for hamburger....

Well... um. 'Scuse me, but since I'm African-American and do not know any Asian women up close & personal, I guess I'm in less of a position to "judge" anyone who writes as if she possibly does know some. As soon as I saw that word "SUBMISSION" I had to halt and read -- there's just something very... offensive and religiously-fundamentalist-sounding for women such as myself. I, who own no Blueberry. However....

It's still hard for me to imagine that this insulting stereotype remains a fertile realisation. I only imagined Geishas to be of the ilk the writer describes, but then again, I can only go by what I've read and heard. That's just like Asian women thinking the only types of Black women who exist are Mammie types, The Ghetto-snipes, or those among us with foul mouths and unfortunate manners.

WHAT exactly IS this writer trying to get across to 21st century women anyhow -- that prostitution in any form still exists? We already know that, and it likely always will. Trying to convince most of us that that's the way to attract anything but a sexist is an effort in futility; most male sexist are an embarrassment to even most conscious males today.

Were I an Asian woman, I suspect I'd be egregiously insulted --unless I were [like] the women in the article. The men I know, want no such hand-licking "devotion" from their women; in the event something unfortunate happens to a man, how on earth would a child-like woman take care of him?
