Monica Goodling

Someone should investigate what Monica Goodling has done since graduating from Pat Robertson's law School and how she became a senior advisor to the AG of the US, at the age of 33 or younger.

Monica Goodling

I haven't seen anyway explain Goodling's experience after her 1999 graduation from Pat Robertson's law school until becoming the no. 3 at Justice by age 33. Imagine the Republican outrage if someone had graduated from a Michael Moore law school and became no. 3 at Justice without experience under Clinton. We need investigations of every Federal agency to see if the GSA experience has been duplicated and to show all of the contracts that went undeservedly to Bush supporters.

Clinton appointees Tenet and Freeh

Why did Clinton appoint such duds as Tenet and Louis Freeh to head such important offices as CIA and FBI? If competent, creative people had been appointed, 9/11 probably would not have happened. It's my feeling that since both Tenet and Freeh are very religious, they didn't have enough of a skeptical, challenging, think out of the box management style to put together the facts that would have uncovered 9/11 and for Tenet to understand how much he was being used by the administration.

Was Plame covert?

In any case, shouldn't they be looking back to 1998 for Plame since the disclosure was in 2003.

Hillary's documets

With all this talk of Hillary's documents, have we ever gotten the documents from the prior Bush Senior Administration, especially any communications from George W. Bush?

Lying to Congress

It's a shame the follow up isn't as strong when Supreme Court nominees and top corporate executives lie to Congress. There lies are much worse for the country than whether an athlete used sterioids.

Ferraro's comments

In one respect Ferraro is right that Obama wouldn't be in the same position if he were white. A white candidate with Obama's charisma would have already clinched the nomination.

Why Hillary's losing

Sure there's a lot of sexism and there's at least as much racism, some generated by the Clinton campaign. The Clintonistas have to face up to the fact that the Clinton's have cost themselves the nomination beginning with Hillary's 2002 obviously political vote to support Bush's war, her claims of sniper fire in Bosnia and playing a key role in the Northern Ireland peace agreement, Bill's hostile comments, her gas tax pander and all economists are elitists, the failure to take the caucuses seriously or plan well for them, her reneging on the Michigan/Florida rules she had supported in the beginning (why didn't she withdraw from Michigan like most of the Dems?), the RFK assassination (obviously not advocating one but certainly mentioning it as a possibility), etc., etc. but most importantly, the phenomenon and uniqueness of Barack Obama.

Ghost written letters

I think I saw his Palin letter in the Philadelphia Inquirer. Now I know where such drivel comes from.

MVP

I think we need to define MVP. It used to be the guy who carried his team the most, usually to the playoffs and often was the top RBI guy. Under that criteria, Howard wins easily. If the MVP is the best player, Pujols might win it every year.

McClatchy

The McClatchy news organization exposed the misrepresentations and doubts about the intelligence and other arguments for war during the entire pre-war buildup. It's just that the NY Times and Washington Post and TV networks ignored it. Bush has lied from day one of his administration and there's no reason for Bubble Boy to change now.

Kissinger is Worse

Worse than Cheney is the respect given to Henry Kissinger about whom Seymour Hersh said: "Kissinger lies the way most people breathe." Kissinger persuaded Nixon to extend the Vietnam War for a couple of years because peace before 1972 might hurt Nixon in the election. He was also involved in the overthrow of Allende and many other international events that have cause many deaths and hardships. I also believe there are a few countries Kissinger cannot visit because he would be subject to arrest. But in the good old USA, he's treated as an honored statesman whose counsel is often sought. He and Cheney belong in a jail cell for the rest of their lives.

Daschles taxes

One of Daschle tax failings was supposedly $15,000 in contributions that didn't have support. This should be pursued. If Daschle wrote checks for this amount but didn't have the acknowledgement letters from the organizations, that may be understandable. But if there are no checks or other indications that such payments/contributions were even made, then this seems like fraud and may have been done to reflect that with his large income, a certain percentage in contributions would be allowed without audit.

Future happy children who wouldn't be born

While the forced-birth people like to talk about the children who are never born because of abortion, they never talk about the children who are born to women who previously had abortions and would not have had a subsequent child were it not for the abortion. In most of these situations, the child or children the woman eventually has when her circumstances are more appropriate for raising children live better adjusted lives and become more productive members of our society.

Steele this vote

It's so ironic that Steele is the head of the GOP. When he ran for the Senate in Maryland in 2006, he put out flyers that implied he was a Democrat and falsely claimed support from specific Democratic politicians. While he wasn't prosecuted for such misrepresentations (he should have been), it's clear that as a hypocrite and distrustful, he's an appropriate representative of his party.

Typical Republican hypocrisy

South Carolina and Louisiana are among the states that for many years have received substantially more money per capital from the Federal government than they have paid in. Sanford and Jindahl should stop taking that excess if they are so concerned about balancing the budget and fairness. Where were these states when the Bush adm. and GOP were turning surpluses into deficits?
