You gotta wonder...

If the escapee and suspect were African-American do you think the cop would have let him stand there and sweet talk him for 8 minutes with no cuffs on or backup?

Unfair to Compair

It is unfair to compare those massive media corps with individual citizens like Rob Reiner. On one side we have sociopathic, immortal, and virtually infinitely wealthy profit machines and on the other we have a very mortal private citizen who just wants to spend his money on things he wants to. What's more "conservative" than that?

Original article: From Blacksburg to Baghdad

Sad and true.

It is a tough parallel to draw, but an important one. How would we function as a nation if events like that at VTech happened nearly twice a day for 4 years? It amazes me that there are still places where 100 people gather in Iraq.

Another thing I have heard often is "I can't imagine what they are going through," in regards to the victims/families of victims. The phrase is repeated over and over on call in shows and I think it's pretty dishonest. Perhaps a better statement would be "I don't want to imagine what they are going through."

We should really try to, as a nation, imagine what the people affected by the VTech tragedy are going through. Then we should take it a step further and try to imagine what the Iraqi people are going through.

Why I left Netflix in 2002

Is for the same reason you are staying. I wanted to postpone my account for 3-6 months while I was out of the country, but the only way I could do so and save the hundreds of ratings we had done would have been to keep 3 dvds and pay every month to watch nothing.

I thought this was pretty stupid and quit as a result. Now I get movies for free from the Multnomah County Library system.

Also, back in those early days I referred at least 5 people to Netflix and never received anything in return.

If you care about your rights...

then honestly, stop reading articles about cell phones and riot in the streets.

I can see that this kind of sucks, but really there's far bigger fish to fry.

whatever

sure it's not maybe the best campaign song out there, but who really cares? Will this have any effect on his candidacy? no.

Honestly, I'd rather have this harmless song than a song by a group best known for singing "Let's get retarded"
